Does KITAP(ITAP) already include MERP (IMK)?

I recently obtained my ITAP, but my agent informed me that a MERP (IMK) is no longer required. However, I'm a bit confused because a friend of mine also obtained an ITAP in 2025 and was issued an IMK at the same time.


From what I understand, under the new regulations that took effect after December 2024, ITAP holders no longer need to apply separately for a MERP/IMK. If that's the case, why did my friend receive one while I did not?


Has anyone had a similar experience or can provide some clarification? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

If I am not mistaken , another member also said he/she didn't get the IMK .

If you will travel abroad now and want to be 100% sure , I suggest you to ask your city's Immigration Office . Search the internet for [nomor WA kantor imigrasi 'name of the city or kabupaten'] , they usually answer Whatsapp messages .

I myself also got a ITAP in 2025 with a IMK . But it is possible that the Indonesian Immigration decided to stop its issuance because since few years all new ITAP have been issued with IMK covering all the time period of the ITAP (with ITAS this rule started even earlier) .

I am not sure if it started in December 2024 , but yes , when I applied myself (in my sponsor's behalf) in 2025 I did request only 1 process (status change of ITAS to ITAP) but got 2 permits (ITAP + IMK) .

In my view , I think the IMK/MERP will not exist in the near future . Its price will simply be added to the Stay Permit and nobody will mention about the IMK anymore .
