Are you effected by the Flood in Jakarta Today

Thanks, but no thanks. We've got plenty during the rainy season. It rains more in one month in Jakarta than in Baku in a whole year.

40% of Jakarta lies below sea level. Where do you suggest these canals flow to?

In the meantime, you can watch them play football. Quite a few North African expats are good players.

This is how the Indonesian people and government have treated Rohingya refugees

Maybe it's the 1.000 hectares near Gresik (Jatim) that they planted with mango trees? To put the above 1.000 hectares in a bit of a perspective... Indonesia will probably import around 2.3 million tonnes of rice this year. To be able to become self-sufficient they will need an additional...

This is how the Indonesian people and government have treated Rohingya refugees

It is a sad state of affairs indeed. It would be interesting to explore why Indonesia seems to inhospitable towards these refugees. Maybe they fear that if they let in 'just a couple of thousand', hundreds of thousands of Rohingya will come and seek asylum here (there are currently 1.2 million...

This is how the Indonesian people and government have treated Rohingya refugees

Actually, there is more strength in unity. Anyway, the people of Aceh have experience with Rohingya refugees and they don't have the capacity to shelter them. "Mereka memberi kesan tingkah laku dan perbuatan yang kurang baik serta tidak sesuai dengan adat dan norma-norma peraturan desa," ujar...

    Wonders and curiosities

Oh sure, you can burn quite a few calories by exercising. Just look at cyclists during the Tour de France. They burn an average of about 6,000 kCal per stage. But these are top athletes, animals, who make an enormous effort. If we mere mortals ran for an hour a day (imagine that!) and lifted...

    Wonders and curiosities

Well, being able to run a 3.000+ caloric deficit for a period of 90 days without significant exercise is clearly unusual, albeit not impossible if you are 2.10m tall. But doing that with little effort? No, I don't think so. I didn't call you a liar. I just don't believe your story until you can...

    Wonders and curiosities

Nobody called you a liar. Everybody's body is different and if you are able to burn around 4.000 calories a day (3.000 + 1.000? from soups and juices) by doing only mild exercise, that is great. On average a man needs/burns around 2.500 calories a day. If someone wouldn't eat anything at all...

    Wonders and curiosities

You forgot a comma between 3 and 5? There is no way someone can loose 390gr of body fat a day for a period of 90 days with little effort. You'd have to run a 3.000+ calorie deficit on a daily basis. I think you have a little secret. But that's okay.

    Stavol Voltage Stabilizers experience, advice??

Even though you might not expect it, the PLN does have standards. I have no idea what they are exactly, but if things really get out of hand (like in the case of the OP) then you can file a complaint with the PLN. It is better if you do it together with a number of neighbors who also experience...

    Stavol Voltage Stabilizers experience, advice??

I just saw that the beban tetap for a 5.500W connection is Rp374.00 a month. Another advantage of the prepaid meter is that there is no biaya beban. You only pay for the listrik that you use. Changing your meter to a prepaid one is free. Just call PLN and they'll do it for you.

    Stavol Voltage Stabilizers experience, advice??

If you have a prepaid meter from PLN, you can use codes to see real-time information on the display of the meter. For my meter, I type in 41 <enter> and it shows the real-time Voltage, 47 <enter> for real-time power consumption etc.

    Stavol Voltage Stabilizers experience, advice??

I once had a voltage stabilizer for my computer in my office. The voltage often dropped significantly, especially in the evening, although it was reasonably around 220V during the day. At one point I noticed my PC behaving erratically and soon after stopped working. What turned out? After...

Did Hamas use Indonesian Shifa Hospital as a human shield ?

I am not sure if I qualify to point this out, but hospitals using tunnels to connect to other hospitals and other fascilities are not uncommon around the world. In my hometown we have them and for example here they use them too. Glad that I could be of help.

Did Hamas use Indonesian Shifa Hospital as a human shield ?

I was obviously not talking about Arab doctors who voluntarily chose to live in Israel. It's the people who have been forced off their land to live in refugee camps for decades that can be expected to rebel against those who oppress them.
