Indonesia Second Home Programme - All Retirement Stay Permits Abolished and Existing Holders Scheduled for Expulsion in Case of Non-Compliance

That's a relief! I was concerned that it was going to cost some real money up front to retire in Indonesia.

    hello all!

Welcome aboard. I gather you are a fan of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, or perhaps its some other features of the landscape you find most attractive? If I am mistaken, fill us in on what brought you to the archipelago, and what you love most about Indonesia.

Shingles (Zostavax or Shingrix) & Tetanus/Diphtheria (Boostrix) Vaccine

As I have said, I got the Shingrix vaccine as soon as it was available in the USA. No adverse reaction or other problems beyond a sore arm. Getting shingles is the real nightmare in this story. Get vaccinated ASAP.

Shingles (Zostavax or Shingrix) & Tetanus/Diphtheria (Boostrix) Vaccine

Yes, I got the Shingrix vaccine at least a couple of years ago; actually as soon as it was approved and finally available. As I said earlier, it is far superior to anything that came before and I do not recall an adverse reaction except a sore arm for a day or so, for both the first and the...

Possible to get B211A (tourist) visa? UK citizen

We had basically the same experience as Wally; we arrived in late May w/o a visa; got a VOA at CGK relatively quickly; late Jun to Kantor Imigrasi Jaktim (3 visits over a week or so) for a 30 day extension. Swore I would not come back until things are back to "normal" i.e. getting a 60...

New Indonesian passports are NOT valid for travel to Germany (and maybe other countries).

How Indonesian Immigration could be so myopic and parochial is extraordinary.

    Bring back masculinity

Categorizing persons as normal and abnormal is a step down the wrong path; its a values judgement, an assignment of worth, its not science. Persons with mental illness like those afflicted with a disease attaching their physical health are sick. Its a value judgment to classify either as...

Nice to be back in Indonesia after 18 months

Having a concern about bureau-crappic surprises is born out of experience; a Chick Little mentality does not govern our decisions. We do not have a long layover i.e. not over-nighting, and no bussed between airports. We are not anticipating problems, but I will nevertheless be relived when when...

Nice to be back in Indonesia after 18 months

My guess, as well....but I hope something more definitive is available before we depart for our Stateside home. Relying on the common sense and good graces of one or both of the Indonesian or Japanese immigration bureaucracies makes me nervous.

Nice to be back in Indonesia after 18 months

Thanks for the heads-up on your Narita experiences guys. As of now, unless we hear of a definite requirement that transiting passengers must present proof of recent a negative Covid test, we are not planning to get tested. That brings up another question: are we going to be allowed to board at...

Nice to be back in Indonesia after 18 months

It was announce this morning that travelers will no longer (as of Sunday -- tomorrow) be required to present proof of a negative Covid test taken within 24 of touch down to enter the States. Our return is still about 6 weeks in the future, but I am wondering, since we transit through Narita in...

Nice to be back in Indonesia after 18 months

Home is a moving target, but we have a gaggle of relatives here that make the grueling flight worth the discomfort. Indonesia, besides family, has a certain lack of complacency that I, for one, find refreshing. Shortly after we arrived the hot water pump fractured an elbow, or rather a knee in...

Travelling to Indonesia - Peduli Lindungi App

Like I said, when we went through, the app was down; there was no right side quick line.
