Hello I am new to this forum but a 20 year expat in Jakarta and Batam, I will be in Bandung next weekend and would like to watch the pies in the AFL GF. Can anyone suggest a sports bar in Bandung

Dunno about places in Bandung. I think your two options are visit Jakarta or pay for a watchafl pass.

I have been giving this some thought & I can only suggest you have a look around the bars down in Braga area. Or find out what channel is showing it & get a hotel with a good cable TV service (if it is on cable) OR watch online.
I don't really go to sports bars or watch TV so I am not much help with this, sorry.

ooh there is an Aussie bar up in sukajadi area...

try phoning them & asking if they are showing it- it is owned/run by an Australian couple.

Duhhh...........everybody knows AFL stands for American Football League, GF are the "girlfriends" and the piemen are the ones earning the big bucks.
I am not so myopic as to assume that "everyone" knows, let along cares, about American football prima donnas. Never heard them referred to as "Pie." Thanks for the expansion of my limited vocabulary.

Ohh dear, waarmstrong! "Pie" is not a reference to American football prima donnas. The Collingwood football club (in Victoria) is playing against a West Australian side called West Coast Eagles. Collingwood with black and white as their colours, the same colour as magpies, are referred to as the Magpies or... 'pies" for short.

The worst thing about the match is Collingwood have a 211 ctmre American playing as he did the previous week, against my team Richmond (Yellow and black and therefore the Tigers). And that bloody big Yank, Mason Cox pulled down 11 marks and kicked 3 goals. It will be interesting to see how the Eagles deal with this particular "Pie" in the grand final next Saturday. As a Richmond supporter and with all the old traditional hatreds of Collingwood I guess I will be barracking for the West Coast Eagles.

Hahahaha- I just saw the posts re AFL= American... & I was there thinking Australian...seems I just disproved the "everybody knows" part of the chat :D

Asian Football League, Girl Friendly bar, and the Mincington Mincers ?
Or the Sharonsville Shepherds?

Or "A" level, girlfriend experience, CIM, ?

Thanks all for the reply's. Harrryopal is correct AFL stands for Australian football league and as was explained due to long history there is no love lost between tigers and the pies with the pies whooping them last week

You caught me displaying my ignorance. My condolences to your Richmond Tigers & I hope the West Coast Eagles gained some insights from the Richmond drubbing. I have enjoy my few chance encounters with Australian football; seems to be more continuous action than the American version, which has a pace that only a beer commercial promoter can love.

Try the Bamboo Shack in Dago.

AFL is Aussie,
NFL is US,
CFL is Canadian (with bigger balls)
Premier League, with no acronym, is UK.

Errr, EPL (from EFL).

Hmm, England (+Wales)=UK?
(You know something about Brexit we don’t?)
