I read that any preemptive US strike plan is currently contingent on getting South Korea agreement. US also believes NK is planning another nuclear weapons test.

I believe the previous administration told this one that NK would be one of the biggest upcoming/ongoing problems they would face. They have been trying to negotiate with NK/China for years and NK just keeps progressing in its plans.

I think you can blame the failures on the haste in which they are trying to speed these things up. The US would rather shoot these things out of the sky to show off their capability. If heads keep rolling then it shouldn't be too long until they are out of heads.

Question is now, with the humiliation of the missle launch failure, (that probably replaced the nuclear test) what is Kim's saving grace. He has not shown a history of accepting failure.

They say they have not determined the size of the rocket yet but I would also think that it was medium raged. It is the same site as the last failure and that was a medium raged missile. It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't go from a failed missile test to assurances the atomic test was ready and set that off. The guy lives in his own world and really thinks he is above all others in the world. I guess he is believing his own propaganda to his people.

Things are complicated since if the war breaks out, the objective is not only putting fatboy down, thats not much of a problem. But NOT LETTING a single nuclear drop on any allies's land. S300, THAAD, Jets, may intercepts lots missiles, but could they stop ALL of them ?

Besides the distance between Seoul and Pyongyang....

So I guess Trump bluffed CHina/RUssia all this time. He sent Tomahawk and Threaten NK, then left.....
