New regulation for visa sponsors. Will be valid in 6 months.

In general, sponsors individuals must have a 100 million Rp balance in the last 3 months on their account. The maximum number of sponsored foreigners by Indonesian Individuals is 10. Does not apply for spouse sponsored visas or for children sponsred by parents.

Sponsors-corporations must have 200 million Rp balance in last 3 months.

Seems this may effect the agents in Bali sponsoring a horde of digital nomads.

How would this be enforced ? They’ll check your bank balance at the yearly visit to immigrasi ? Not a huge issue but a bit of a pain to have 100jt sat doing nothing.

Perhaps you should read again
"The sponsor"

This will eventually lead to a special visa for "agents" to perform sponsorship duties which is fair enough
No more dodgy travel agents sponsoring dozens of dodgy backpackers

Now for a 211 I foresee you needing to be sponsored by a company for a max 14 day work meeting permit thing
Or a travel agent for 90 days max for example

But for sure a shakeup eventually one day

Maybe
Possibly
Insha'Allah

Rules are tightening. Now for a business visa (from today I think, and not related to above), it is required to show the whole 3-month bank account statement of the sponsor or applicant with a minimum balance of 10.000 USD (so applicant or sponsor must have a bank account with no minimum of 10.000 USD balance during the 3-month period).

Has there been previous ministerial regulations specifically about sponsors before?

It seems to me in the past sponsors only need to provide documents like KTP, NPWP, etc. but in this regulation it looks like have their own set of hoops to jump through. Article 10 says they have to go through profiling and then they need to have a permit to become a sponsor. The permit lasts for 3 year, renewable for a maximum of 2 years per renewal.

Some years ago Australia offered permanent residence for people in Hong Kong with $500,000 to invest. It seems a pattern developed where some Chinese would apply, get residence and then pass on the $500,000 to another relative to gain admittance. Whatever the rules there are always those who will find their way around them

500 k USD for P.R. in Australia ? Shock and horror...

At those rates you will only attract certain "business opportunities" for who 500k is small change.

Look at London and the Russians ....

Wow I almost had heart attack. Good thing the government still cares for Indo spouse and Indo parents sponsors. I was like how the flying truck my parents or other people who have are in similar background have 100-200 mils just sitting in their saving accounts. Pheeew almost....
