IALF Surabaya is looking for qualified, experienced and energetic Indonesian teachers of English for its courses in and around Surabaya, to students typically in the 16 - 24 age range. If you meet the following requirements we would like to hear from you:

ESSENTIAL

• at least a Bachelor's Degree in English Teaching, or equivalent.
• at least 2 years of relevant full-time experience teaching English.
• very good English skills.

DESIRABLE

• experience of teaching business English and IELTS
• experience of teaching Indonesian to ex-pats
• a CELTA or equivalent
• experience of studying abroad

I know some people who possess the ‘essential’ requirements. But the ‘desirable’ competences and experience you mention are completely unrealistic. So when I forwarded this ad to them, I got the impression they were immediately discouraged. Perhaps it’s a bit cultural; in western countries potential candidates don’t really care so much about all the ‘nice-to-haves’.
