Do you have to make STM every year?

Pak Polres said that I have to make an STM every year when the old one expires, even with KITAP. It's the first I heard about it, I thought you just make the STM when you have some other document to make. Is this a real law?

My current Police Report / STM was done in 2021 when I did the change of status from Kitas to Kitap. I had to renew it for the Kitap aplication then I returned to the police office when I got the Kitap and they changed the departure date to the date the Kitap expired , 2016 and told me it is valid until the Kitap expires when I will have to renew it again . Only ever renewed it yearly for the Kitas renewal/extensions. May now be law since all the changes to everything being done online in late 2024 . But one would assume that since they changed the Merp periods to align with the Kitap periods , 5 - 10 years and unlimited the police reports would follow suite . Maybe contact immigration to verify the current law .

Not true, as far as I know (assuming you are talking about the Surat Tanda Melapor) .

Anyway , it is/was not our legal responsibility to get the STM . It is/was the hotel's/house's/apartment's owner where a foreigner stays/reside the one who is/was responsible to get it .

As far as I remember , the requirement for the Police's STM & SKLD were cancelled with the introduction of Immigration's PP no.31 Year 2013 (if I am not mistaken , this information came from Atlantis) .

Unfortunately it is possible that some cities' "Kantor Catatan Sipil/Civil Registry" are still requesting the STM for the issuance of their SKTT , KK OA & KTP OA . My city stopped requesting it around 2022.
