Wednesday 22 May mass demonstration ⛔️
The US and German embassies are known for easily sending out alerts though, at least, when I was in Indonesia you'd see an alert from the US embassy, and then you go ask the Dutch one and they were like eh, use common sense, no need for an alert. Diff'rent strokes, I guess :)- MadCat

Well hello there...
Indonesia's only 6 hours ahead of the rest of the crew, so if I was in Indonesia, I'd just start at 9, by the time 3 in the afternoon rolls around I can do meetings/discussions with people in the office until they go and have lunch. My job lends itself to it though :)- MadCat

Well hello there...
Hunh, I thought they always required pre-registration, or at the very least being able to show a Dutch passport. Not that it matters, last time there was a shindig at the embassy it was hilariously disappointing so I vowed not to go anymore - I'd rather go sit in Jaya Pub and listen to live...- MadCat

Using Indonesian debit card abroad
Pretty much, yeah, it is like opening a tab. It's just that on a credit card it's all magicked behind the scenes and you really don't notice it, debit cards using the visa/mastercard infrastructure are a complete hack on that system so you will notice the whole thing happening - unfortunately...- MadCat

Using Indonesian debit card abroad
Actually this is completely normal; whenever I fill up with my domestic bank card (which is actually a Visa in disguise) it allocates (authorizes) +/- 150 euros on the card, then you fill up, and by way of much voodoo magic they refund the bit you didn't use.
