I finally got KITAP - yaayy

The actual eKTP is just a national identity card set up to make it more centrally controlled and strengthening the database for the country. Non Balinese will still require permits of some kind to actually stay in Bali be it KIPEM or reporting to local banjar and STM to the local police etc. and then if intending to reside permanently in Bali, then require the documentation for Pindah Domisili and having a permanent address (not rental kos or 2 year house lease).....etc.. etc.. as discussed in above paragraphs.

Clearly re the ktp bali, there are differences from area to area , for mixed married the property law, the procedure postnup has still not been ratified , so if you dont have a prenup from a position of owning property your screwed !

If your wife owns a house in some areas of bali you can get a ktp immediately , in areas of denpasar you need to be an owner for 7 or 11 years ! crazy of course , but of course that is the wonderful bureaucracy here .

Around a year ago in nusa dua they decided to give a ktp for residents of over 5 years , with of course proof of rental contracts .

There is an insidious reason as to why this is, and it has nothing to do with how slow the bureaucracy is. Essentially it is to limit residents (and therefor voters) to Balinese people.

If Bali is so impossible to get a KTP how can any Retirement Kitap holder even comply with Indonesia's national law that everyone needs a KTP.
I was told by my sponsoring agent that it was not necessary to have a KTP but many others say it is necessary...what can a poor fool do?

No problem for foreigners to get KTP-OA. You don't get to vote after all!

Ya the joys of indo bureaucracy ! it creates more problems than it solves . If as a foreigner you wish to comply with the laws, they put up minefields of rules which in some cases make it impossible . Luckily I had good training for this problem , my university of corruption and crazy paperwork, Mogadishu 35 years ago.

I understand that only citizens, and not residents, get a vote...that's fairly international.
If getting a KTP-OA is easy that's good news. Do you have any info on the essential requirements to obtain one in Bali?

In bali your ktp oa follows your wives bali ktp at the catatan sipil , if your wife doesnt have a bali ktp Im not sure its possible?

My wife is now a Canadian citizen so that point is moot.
My question..how to obtain a KTP-OA on a retirement Kitap in Bali?
If the Kitap is spousal-sponsored, and the spouse cannot obtain a Bali KTP.... how can a WNA, living in Bali, comply with Indonesian law?...it appears to be contradictory!!!

Even stronger, I would say: "a Bali KTP.... how can a WNI, living in Bali, comply with Indonesian law?...it appears to be contradictory.... and not legal."

But who will start a law suit?

I'm in Bali ,but for me to get kitap i will have to go back to jawa, and that's where i would get ktp_oa...for someone on retirement kitap they are sponsored by a travel agent who would be in Bali,so they should be able to get a ktp sponsored by agent, more big money no doubt..the few people i know on retirement kitas have never even heard of sktt let alon ktp oa

That's the circle of dilemma...my agent, who sponsors my Kitap, says that isn't necessary. He also said if ever I'm confronted with any problem to advise, as my sponsor, all questions about my immigrant status should be directed to him.

Is it a requirement for the KTP-OA to be 'sponsored' by anyone?

Sorry dont know about the ktp,but my sktt(for kitas holders) was sponsored by anyone who has a Bali e ktp

Sponsorship is not relevant though; it is also not an Imigrasi issue, but a Civil Registry one. If you are here as a permanent resident, you need a KTP. Just like every (adult) WNI. Period. And the KTP should reflect where you live, even more so with the e-KTP.

Ok ,for the sktt,it is not technically a sponsorship, just a witness to who you are.Catatan sipil only requires A Photocopy of e ktp and kartu keluarga with their signature on a form that you fill out,it can be anybody at all..Maybe the ktp_oa is done the same way? Surely someone here has made one.

Yes, (almost) all of us on KITAP. I think Banana wrote a thread about it.

It's even in a Ministerial Decree. But I am convinced every Catatan Sipil will have their own little rules and requirements.

Articles Peraturan Menteri Dalam Negeri No. 69, of the year 2014:

    1. Nomor Induk Kependudukan Nasional;
    2. Fotokopi Kartu Keluarga; dan
    3. Fotokopi Kartu Izin Tinggal Tetap;

Document: http://www.kemendagri.go.id/media/documents/2014/10/08/p/e/permen_no.69_th_2014.doc

When I did a very quick and dirty search, I found that the form for both the WNI and WNA is F-1.07, but some others say that is the Biodata.

And for WNI only there is a F-1.21

Now wouldn't this be nice? They had to laugh in my Lurah when I asked...

Thanks Jstar but, as a retiree Kitap holder, I don't have a National ID Number nor a Family Card.
Clearly a spousal Kitap holder use their WNI spouse/family for sponsorship and can DIY but, by law, a retirement Kitap holder cannot.
I'm thinking Indonesian lawmakers draft law but have no clue as to what Immigration have conjured-up.

Yes, you will have a NIK, David. Just search for it a bit, we discussed this a lot. Every person who resides here with KTP or SKTT has a NIK.

The KK for you, is just like the KTP OA, a rather simple request.

Edit: Just to re-iterate: There is an Immigration and a Civil registration. They are different tracks with different results. The first will get you a KITAS/P and MERP, the second a SKTT or KTP OA+KK. (With a unique number, a NIK.) You need to do both, whatever employers and agents tell you!
