He probably won't have a lot to say at all. Nothing to gain & probably nothing to lose if he utters anything. I see his family got brought into the fray too.

What can you say really? In many places in the world this whole show wouldn't be allowed to happen. He is not going down without a lying/corrupt fight (so to speak).

The Indonesian justice system is baffling.....and yet amusing if it weren't so serious a matter.

Today...Setya's delayed separate pre-trial motion will be decided by a judge in South Jakarta. This is odd because yesterday the real trial for Setya commenced and he was sick (drama).
So......how can there be a pre-trial motion, which is to decide how a trial is conducted or even merited, when the trial has already started.....makes no sense.

Yes, the judge at South Jakarta District Court threw out the pre-trial motion this afternoon, on the grounds it was now legally void.

I know that there are problems with the Indonesian justice system but really how can any Judge/s continue to allow this man's acting.

The system with lose all credibility if this fool is allowed to continue with this sham.

The Indonesian people deserve better.

"Lock him up" and throw the key away as the US President would say.

I wonder what legal remedy is available to the Indonesian judges in a case like this.
In western jurisprudence I'm thinking he could be charged with contempt as the team of doctors, and other evidence, does suggest he's faking and a trial could continue whether he was responsive or not.
Also, in some countries, it is possible to hear the trial 'in abstentia' but not sure if that applies in Indonesia.

After the diarrhea he was claiming to suffer from I assume the smiling follows after the fart :)

His case was adjourned yesterday until 28 Dec to allow the prosecution time to respond to his defence that the indictment is flawed......

"One of the key points in the refutation concerned the estimated state losses of Rp 2.3 trillion (US$161 million) that the KPK prosecutors had used in their indictment. Setya's team claimed that the figure had not come from an institution that was authorized to issue a formal estimate."
