I can honestly say that never in my life until this past year I would ever hear of an U.S. American president attempting to have a coup over a democratic election. Of all the indictments against him, this is by far the most serious and one he is going to have a next to impossible time trying to refute.

As I noticed someone mention on Threads.net -- it's quite catchy -- the thrice indicted, twice impeached, one-timer ex-president

Yes the billionaire playboy warhero president

Not Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark

Turns out he's bankrupt. Pays porn stars for sex. And had bone spurs for a day

But at least he's a stable genius
Man dog cat person camera
And not obese

Yet 43% of Americans would still vote for him if the election is held today. That’s the scary part.
And they sincerely feel like he has done nothing wrong; that he is a victim (any politician playing a victim is lying..its pathetic). I despair at it all.
I have 80% checked out of American politics. Biden is too old, Trump is trump. Democrats seem to be completely useless and Republicans all seem to be in a cult. I'm glad I'm not American.

I live here, I don’t have a choice but to pay attention. Things are gonna get worse before it gets better.

I am American and agree with you. Biden, trump, and a whole bunch of legislatures are all too old. The conservative side of the supreme court is as corrupt as they come. I have for a long time advocated for presidential age limits, (no older than 65 upon the end of a term), term limits for Congress (4, 2 year terms), the Senate (2, 6 year terms), and the Supreme court
justices, 9 year terms.

This former republican turned independent has to give Biden some credit and admit he has looked good with the progresses he has made. Then again, anyone would look great being compared to who biden followed.

Dems have a history of being basically spinless going after the things they want while todays GOP is a power hungry lot out to enrich themselves and the hell to American citizens including any that may vote for them. They have proven themselves to support racism, white supremacy, and the dumbing down of American students. Their views on women's rights can easily be compared to Shariah law only in some cases worse.

Trump won't be elected again but if one of his supporters are, it all goes away and trump will again weld power be it only by influence but will still be there. The US will probably have to contend with another that will attempt authoritative rule.

I sometimes think that I hope the MAGA misfits try to cause trouble again like Jan6. The security the come up against this time will be armed and will shoot to kill. A few in the front row and they scatter like the cowards they really are.

They shot to kill last time. Capital Police killed an unarmed woman. That was the only death directly caused on Jan 6th. The others were heart attacks or suicides that happened days later. Turns out the policeman they claimed was hit by a fire extinguisher wasn't actually hit and died of natural causes.

Biden tries hard to look sprightly and I understand your sentiment but a few people spring to mind who were men of their time even if past your age limit.

Winston Churchill was 65 when he became prime minister during the war years and 77 when he became prime minister second time around. Nelson Mandela was 71 when ended his term as Prime Minister and has often been referred to as a great man who had a profound influence on his time.
The Dalai Lama is still kicking at 88 but then not a candidate for US President.

I am 84 and ready to take the leadership reins of the USA but foreign born and therefore not a candidate.

How many officers seriously or permantly injured? Let's not go back to the unarmed woman being killed. Trespassing, forced entry into a prohibited area with US Legislators present and unknown if armed or not. Killed with cause. Once she fell, no one else attempted to enter that space. Mission accomplished. If allowed to enter, many more would have followed. Makes my point that if a few in the front fall, the rest scatter or at the very least, stop any advancement.

Well, I am 72 and US born and would want no part of that job. I know I am no where close to being qualified to be resourceful in that position.

You may be foreign born which keeps you running for president but look at a Legislature position. You could fit right in.

I know there have been a few but looking at them, they were of different times and fit right in to the current problems of their respective nations. The Dalai Lama doesn't count. He has no control in any nation.

Shot an unarmed woman who were actively breaking down a door to get in. If somebody is breaking down the door to my house, in Indiana I’d be legally justified to use deadly force.

Dems do get practical things done, but when it comes to wrestling back control from the authoritarian cult that is the GOP ... yeah, not so much. It's depressing.
it would be good if Dems would or could get practical things done, but this administration and the last one aren't and weren't very competent.

It’s the lesser of two evils, and it’s not hard when you look at the other guy. They can literally do nothing and still be a better choice for non religious Americans.

The corruption is rife on both sides, not just the conservatives.
As Harryopal mentioned, a lot of leaders are competent very late in life. Unfortunately Biden is not one of them. Trump's issues are more from personality than age. Anyway, 65 is far too low a limit. 80 is more practical.

So you liked the results at Tienamen Square?
Lethal force wasn't justified at the point it was used. Police get away with unjustified killings far too often in the US. Unwarranted is unwarranted, whether it happens in Cleveland or the Capitol.

She entered suddenly through the window, and had a backpack on her back.

After 9/11 and so many suicide bombers with backpaks, the reaction was as expected.

So people protesting with a backpack are ok to shoot dead if they come too close to the building? Seen a lot of destruction with many of the BLM protests and no one was shot and killed. And yes they were entering court and other governement buildings along with private property as well and throwing molotov cocktails and other incendiary devices.
