So I just came out of a meeting with Immigration today and it seems they are set to announce the end of the B211 extendable 6 month visa, the one that is 60 days then 4 x 30 days.
Now it is valid for 30 days only and then you cannot extend it but you can just apply for a new one. (Time limit not mentioned)
So in reality the outcome is the same, you can stay for a pretty indefinite undetermined length of time but the process for you / your agent it now basically every month you apply for a new 30 day visa.
No idea of costs or charges and I am sure more will be officially announced soon. But this is not the VOA or visa free one.
Perhaps still finalising the longer one for business peeps or digi nomads etc
Also no need to exit, you just apply every month at immigration for a new one (or agent, which means no need to go for fingers and fotos)
So let's see what they say on Friday lunchtime
