STEAM games for decent price

Hi forus members,

A friend of mine (mixed couple) recently opened a Tokopedia store and are selling STEAM game keys, in addition to a few other other things. The prices are decent and there is currently a grand opening sale. He said the games keys are definately legal, valid for Indonesia, and many will work with overseas Steam accounts. I switched my Steam account country registration to Indonesia several years ago to save money, typically 20%. This new source of buying games on Steam means you won't have to wait for the cyclical sales, currently the Winter sale is occuring. Check their store at https://www.tokopedia.com/idstar and perhaps you will find a good deal.

I had a quick look around, indeed there seem to be some better deals but not all.

I wonder where he got those games at a cheaper price? Bulk buy on GoG during promotions?

My assumption is the good prices are because of the grand opening sale and wholesale purchasing. The prices seem decent and considering it's a direct game key being bought, I don't have to pay the 8% Tokopedia fee to buy Steam credits there.

I bought the "Kingdom Come Deliverance 2" game from them (ID STAR) recently. It was a few coins cheaper than than buying directly from Steam store. Are there any other Kingdom 2 players here with secrets to share?

Sorry off topic: Will you get the Switch 2 ? Is it even already available here?

Ah, like Striking Vipers….

(One of the better Black Mirror episodes)

be careful with the Steam Gift Cards purchased via shoppee; we had a problem with one recently (one of my children lost 200juta... a life lesson!) :cautious:

No problems using DANA for Steam purchases so far.

Hmm, Dana is a payment (e-Wallet) system and Shopee is a marketplace so that’s not really possible. Shopee has a very good complaint system btw.

I think he just got scammed, which could have happened anywhere; always check reviews and if the seller is verified. Any seller on any platform or marketplace can screw you by sending a used/fake reload code. And don’t forget if it’s too good to be true…

Well, it is possible since it happened to us (him).

We purchased a Steam Gift Card on shoppee and it led to a malicious link. Bad luck.

Using DANA to pay directly (transferring to Steam wallet) works perfectly fur us.

Wait, wait, wait, that's insane!

Did you make a report to shopee, the police, etc? I'm curious to know what happened next.

I asked my young gamer about the incident and I was mistaken; here's what happened:

We purchased a Steam Gift Card on shoppee. We went to Steam and entered the required data to transfer to the Steam wallet. No problems. My child saw a YouTube 'Short' video about trading gaming skins for CS2*, and my child clicked on a link given on the video in order to trade skins. The link led to a fake Steam login window which required account details be entered and ...yes, you guessed it...my child thought that it was legitimate and entered the Steam account name and password.:mad: Voila! Account hacked and taken over.

Contacting Steam multiple times yielded no response at all.

So some of you guessed correctly; it was a scam link.

*apparently CS2 is known for cheaters and scammers due to the value of some skins/NFTs/stickers/etc.

Thank you for the clarification. It's reassuring that it didn't come from a bad seller on Shopee, but very sorry to hear you child fell victim of a phishing scam.

But how did it come to 200jt loss? Was that in skin values?
