So apparently there is a little sporting event going on in Tokyo.

And Indonesia got its first medal today:

Windy Aisah won the bronze medal in the Women's 49 kg weight lifting competition. The 19-year-old lifted 194kg, and her personal best, to place third in the competition.

Congratulations! 🏆

Eko Yuli Irawan wins the Silver Medal in the 61kg Men's weight lifting competition. The 32-year who just celebrated his birthday yesterday is also the first Indonesian to win 4 Olympic medals (2008 Bronze, 2012 Bronze, 2016 Silver).

Congratulations and happy birthday!

Congratulations to the women's doubles badminton pair, what a match! What a performance!
When they smashed back the drive serve attempt at 11-8 in the second game it was pretty much over, and when they had the rally when one of the players broke her racket, ran off court to get a new one and came back to win the rally, that was the icing on the cake.
They fully deserve to join the pantheon of Indonesian badminton legends.

I have watched each of their matches except today of course. They are a dominate pair and deserve their rewards. They just never quit.

very cool when Gresya ran off court to get a new racket before returning to the action while her Apriani calmly covers the court and winning the point

sadly, the men's doubles where they were seeded and expected to win medals instead lost in the earlier rounds.

Ni Nengah Widiasih wins the Silver Medal in the Women's 41 kg Powerlifting.

This is the first medal for Indonesia in the #ParalympicGames in Tokyo. Widi, as she is usually called, lost the use of her legs due to polio as a child. She was encouraged by her brother to pick up the sport she now excels in. Congratulations!

Leani Ratri Oktila and Khalimatus Sadiyah won the first gold medal for Indonesia at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics in the SL3-SU5 women's doubles para-badminton final.

A historic medal, as it is the first gold for Indonesia in the 2020 Paralympics, the first gold medal for Indonesia in para-badminton, and the first gold medal for Indonesia since the 1980 Paralympic games. Congratulations! 🥇 🥇
