Hi everyone. Got my ITAS (family union) approved and have collected my passport. Is it still a mandatory to apply for SKTT? I did enquire at the Immigration Office and they informed you don't need to apply for one but I read online that you need to produce this when requested otherwise there will be a penalty. I'm torn between, any guidance will be much appreciated.

Yes, it is required by Kependudukan regulations, not by Imigrasi regulations. Although I have heard many, many stories of people not having it and never having a problem. However, if you apply in the future for an ITAP it is one of the application requirements from Imigrasi.

YES , Depending on what part of Indonesia you'll be living in . You'll have to apply for KTP WNA/ID Card , Kartu Keluarga/Family Card " Should be able to get your name put on your Wife/Husbands Kartu Keluarga although some regional offices issue you your own , and the SKTT/WNA Card / Indonesian Place of Residency Card. "WNA" is for Foriegners /Orang Asin , at the Local Government office where you'll be living within 14 days of your arrival in Indonesia . I got letters from the Local Kepala Desa / Village Heads office . "Surat Keterangan Tempat Tinggal Sementara." and "Surat Domisil " after the local government office refused to except my application without a KITAP card . Have read on here of others having no problem getting them with the ITAS. Each office/ Region have there own interpretation of the laws/rules/requirements which you'll discover when you try to renew your ITAS or convert to ITAP !! I've renewed my letters every year and they've been excepted everywhere including , Police Head Office when applying for SIM/Car Licence , Imigration when I renewed my Itas and converted/alhi status to Itap , yearly checks at my house by the Kepala Desa and Police Cheif . I've never been asked for or questioned why I haven't got the Cards even now after nearly a year on the ITAP / 5 year card !

YES and Imigration here in S/East Java /Jawa Timur wouldn't except my SKTT - Domisili and other letters when applying for conversion /alhi status to ITAP because they were dated in the previous year "2020" although they were still valid for 6 months . Had to get new letters with the current years date "2021" . They'll put you through the hoops and move the goal posts just to tests your determination to live here !!

Yes absolutely, and a NIK, NPWP and BJPS also
and the STNK
Been living here 7 years and never needed any of these ! My application for KTP , KK and SKTT cards was refused at the local government office until I got my ITAP . Letters from the Kepala Desa , Surat Keterangan Tempat Tinggal Sementara and Surat Domisili have been excepted everywhere including Imigration when renewing my Kitas and converting/alhi staus to Kitap , Police Head Office when getting my SIM and I've never been aked for or questioned why I don't have the cards ! Isn't the STNK / BJPS for vehicles which I've been driving /riding for years with my wifes name on the STNK/BJPS's etc . Been pulled over many a time and they've never questioned me as I carry a copy of my KK and my wifes KTP which shows my Wifes name , address , relationship to me NIK etc . There more interested in a photo with the Tourist than anything else . Once again it proves where in Indonesia you live and there interpretation of the rules/laws !!

Npwp is tax card for paying your tax
Bjps is your national health card
Both should come with your kitas

Thanks for that , looks like my agent short changed me or they've changed things over the last 7 years . Someone will be getting a phone call !!! Cheers.

Npwp is actually important
You need it to pay your taxes
Also banks often request a copy before issuing credit cards, car finance etc
One of those things that could be a problem in the future

Is your employer paying your income tax for you?

Spouse Sponsored Kitap . Don't work .

Nik also comes with kitas

If you are missing any then your agent shortchanged you
Nik comes with SKTT which you get after getting your KITAS
MPWP is tax card they are eliminating and using NIK number.
BPJS is national health that as far as I have heard is not being issued to spouse sponsored WNA at this time.
STNK is a damn vehicle registration.

What's the police domicile one? Sttk ? The green one

Police = STM, not needed anymore but might be sometimes requested.
Civil Registration = SKTT ("the green one", except it's not green anymore at least in Jakarta).

At least in Jakarta, very easy to process it online, see here:

You might need SKTT when applying for ITAP
