Hello I have some small itchy, crusty spots on my shoulders, that I know are skin cancer. I have had them before and had them removed by liquid nitrogen, or electricity, and one surgically. I went to Siloam hospital several times and saw several Dermatologists, and one cancer surgeon. They all did nothing except sit on their butts and give ineffective creams. I lost a lot of money and time on transport and all day in traffic. I was very disappointed with the ineffective treatment. Someone recommended Dr. Martha Fang. I read the reviews from her website and it was all women talking about botox and facial scrubs. Nothing about removing skin cancer lesions. Has anyone been to see her and had treatment for this? Or any other doctor on Bali that does this procedure successfully?

I dont know about this specific dr but in my experience the cosmetic drs will laser off moles/ skin cancer looking areas on the spot without any silly ineffective creams.

Hi Shadrach,
I have been treated a few times by Dr Vina regarding skin cancer.
They do small operation and your skin cancer is gone. I have wasted time and money with useless creams etc.
She work at BIMC Nusa Dua. Need to make appointment.
Hoping this is of help for you.
Regards

Thank you, I did go see Dr. Vinna and she didn't do any work, she passed me off to a cancer surgeon, who did nothing and then she passed me off to go to another doctor at a different hospital! I gave up doing this after many trips to see these doctors with nothing getting done except me losing a lot of money on taxi's all day in the car, and sitting hospitals for hours, then the doctors just sitting there and giving ineffectual creams, and coming home exhausted with 0 results!

I have made similar experience with doctors at hospitals. Long waiting ques, nothing done. Same to my wife with her knee arthritis.

We have than started to go to specialised doctors who run their on clinic in their own name. Not a hospital, more a kind of privat clinic, with only one or two health providers which fokus only about skin problems or arthritis. From those clinics, we got the very best treatment, my wife for here Arthritis and me for my moles, which have been surgically extracted and checked for cancer, which was negative.

you may try to to find such kind of small clinics. If you plan a trip to Bandung, I can give you the address of my doctor at Sakura Derma. She treated me according to western standards to my full satisfaction.

by the way: If you know already that your crusts are maybe cancerous, I would INSIST to the docter to surgically extract them and test. At the hospitals, YOU have to tell the doctor what he has to do, silly, I know.

I did go to a cancer surgeon and she flaked out and did nothing, but tell me go to a different doctor at a different hospital for more of the same bullshit! I think the private clinic is a good idea. Yes I know what I have is skin cancer. I have had spots removed before. These doctors here are wankers and don't want to work just give ineffective creams that do nothing. The BPJS insurance makes it all ten times worse too.

Absolutely true, the BPJS is more a burden than a help. We're not eligible for BPJS, our insurance is named VISA and Mastercard. The service difference is tremendous if they see the small plastic cards. (for sure the price too, but that's another story).

Is it just surface-level cancer (crusty stuff on the top) or is it in the basal layer (needing to be cut out)? Basal layer stuff is trickier and does need to be cut out (but it's not exactly that hard - can be done under a local anesthetic).
Melanoma is another matter altogether (I'm assuming it's not that).

Indonesian (any non-pale/ white) skin is less prone to developing many forms of skin cancer so they might be just less expert at handling it here. If you go to Australia you can book a private skin check and get seen and treated asap (my partner is Australian and every year he gets checked and has stuff burned off / cut out each time).

Since you are having so much bother getting treated it might be necessary to travel somewhere with more expert care.

Thanks, they are just the crusty type on the surface except for some larger ones on my forehead. That are on the surface too, I have had these before and they were burned off. I don't understand why all the different doctors I went to didn't do this. I have avoided having to go back to the States, I don't have a home or transportation anymore and really don't want to stay with my kids! Thanks for the concern!

Maybee Singapore is also an option. I'm not a doctor, but well self educated about skin cancer. White skin cancer does mostly not spread and gives you some time. BUT: only a qualified dermatologist can see and test that.

I really urge you to take immediate actions on this matter, once the cancer has spread, GAME OVER
