Here in Bandung we usually get some rain dotted about through dry season, currently we seem to be getting some dry days dotted about during dry season.
Day in day out we are being hit with tremendous storms.
Today's storm was literally making my ears pop.
However I am glad to have rain as we have lots of veg planted & it saves us a job watering it.
The cold though... that is awful, I hate being cold. This afternoon my thermometer is reading just 20c, nights are colder.
Bedtime involves quilts PJs & socks.
Yet, only a week or two back it was steaming with 85% humidity & 26+C in the middle of the night.
If only it could make up its mind!
I don't think I've turned on the irrigation system this year at all. We get a couple of hot, dry, days and then it rains again. I'm not really sure it is good for my plants, though. The dry season helps regulate the environment, reducing the numbers of all sorts of pests, weeds and even funguses. I can exploit that period to establish the environment I want for the plants I want. I mean, I am saving on water, but I'm not so sure about the bottom line.
