Pribumi?

So, driving down the street I occasionally see a shop that has a name like "Putra Pribumi Panci". The choice of name always makes me wonder. I wonder what is meant by the word in this context. I've really only heard it used by people who are getting ready to start talking crap about the "Chinese" or someone who is going to discuss the far distant (even prehistoric) past.

So, what does it mean as a name for a business? Is it the same as if I named my restaurant “White Anglican Bistro", or is it more like "Native Son Sandwiches"? Is there ethnic nationalism baked in, or just your normal sort of nationalism? Neither?

Warung Nasi Putra Pribumi simply means Native Son Rice Bistro. Many traditional restaurants like to use humble names. The famous Padang restaurant franchise ‘Sederhana’ literally means simple.
