  • Most visa requirements, procedures, and some prices are published here: http://www.imigrasi.go.id/. This is the Government's official immigration website. It is available in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Contact information for the Immigration's head office is:
Direktorat Jenderal Imigrasi Republik Indonesia
Jl. H. R. Rasuna Said Kav.X-6 Kuningan-Jakarta Selatan
Call Center : 021 5224658 ext. 2702
Telefax : 021 5225038
SMS Center : -
Email : [email protected]

  • This link goes directly to the prices (tariffs) charged by the Government for various non-tax services. It is in Indonesian and it is a long list with many items on it that may be irrelevant to you, but if you are patient you will find what you are looking for. Try doing a search on KITAS, for example, and among other items on the list you will find "Izin Tinggal Terbatas NonElektronik Masa BerlakuPaling Lama 6 (Enam)Bulan" - Non-electronic Limited Stay Permission for up to 6 months, with a listed price (at the time of this writing) of Rp 450,000: http://portal.ahu.go.id/uploads/6882...hun%202015.pdf

  • If you are looking specifically for information related to working legally in Indonesia as a foreigner, you can go to this Ministry of Manpower site: http://tka-online.kemnaker.go.id/ (TKA = tenaga kerja asing, or foreign worker). This website contains information for both companies employing TKA and for TKA themselves about work permits, requirements, procedures, fees, regulations & up to date amendments. It is in Indonesian, but very detailed.
To contact the Ministry by telephone you can call or Whatsapp directly to:
+62 (0)8111375733,
+62 (0)88218561583,
+62 (0)8111385733,
+62 (0)8811191575

More generally, information on Indonesian laws can be found in these links:

  • This website, "Media Publikasi Peraturan Perundang-undangan dan Informasi Hukum" (roughly, "Legal Information and Information on Laws") is a source for all official regulations and legal information: http://djpp.kemenkumham.go.id/(*)

  • This link takes you directly to copies of the law you can download: http://djpp.kemenkumham.go.id/database-peraturan/peraturan-pemerintah.html. (Number 42, page 2, regarding "Jenis dan Tarif Atas Jenis Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak Yang Berlaku Pada Kementerian Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia" [Types of Tariffs for Non-Tax Revenues Applicable within the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights] is the price/tariff list mentioned above).

NOTE: if any of the links don't work when you click on them, try pasting the one you want into your browser. Official Government websites are sometimes slow/finicky.

Nice info, easy to find, as well, since you gave it it's own thread. Hopefully it will go into Puspawarna's index.

It's already there. But still a work in progress!

Both pinky321 and Bad_azz deserve a shout-out for their work on the above information. My role has been limited to trying (not always successfully) to merge and format it. Thank you pinky321! Thank you Bad_azz!

Nice concise info, I finally managed to achieve an NPWP number from ereg site but it was not straight forward.
I went through the lengthy registration and validation process and submitted the application. For the next month I checked it repeatedly but was never processed.
Assuming the system was busted I filed the info away. 3 months later I logged back in for fun saw it was "lengkap" and after an email token exchange received today the NPWP number and an electronic version of the card. So it seems extreme patience is needed. My friend told me it is much easier to go line up at Tax office and register manually.
