OECD accession forces Indonesia’s hand on integrity

Indonesia must overcome numerous challenges to successfully join the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), including improving accountability, transparency and governance standards. To reach the OECD's rigorous standards, Indonesia's government must ensure public sector independence, fight corruption across all sectors, implement digitisation measures to enhance transparency and promote active citizen participation.

List of non OECD countries…

Many in fact, and India, Hungary, Croatia, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, Poland and the Philippines are not irrelevant either…

Don't forget to recognize Israel. And that would be the easiest condition to fulfill.
Obviously the hardest and most unlikely.
Reading pieces on this over the last 6 months or so, it looks like Israel is trying to force Indonesia to accept Israel as a legitimate nation in return for it allowing Indonesia's OECD membership.
I seem to recall the Israel press were saying Indonesia had accepted, but the internal political situation in Indonesia would very likely make such a thing impossible.
Given the atrocious war crimes Israel has committed over the last few months, the impossibility of Indonesia recognising Israel is even further away.

At the moment, chances that Indonesia will combat successfully the corruption, remove trade barriers, improve its bureaucracy, establish solid democratic system and rule of law and increase the capacity of the educational system are less than recognizing Israel.

I'll go with about the same - pretty much impossible

Until I see all the countries supporting Israel, financially, militarily, etc, and not giving Palestine equal assistance, I do not, and will not support Israel!
The press is bias, in it's reporting on each side. They call Israeli's soldiers, and Palestinians militants! I see over the years, Israel taking more and more land, building settlements, denying water, allowing free travel, for work related situations, basically screwing the Palestinians of basic human rights! As an American, I am ashamed of what my government does!

I say STOP supporting Israel in any way! Let them cover their own Backsides! We all know, it's for military bases, in a crucial location, in the Middle East!
By the way, My ancestors on my Father's side, were Jewish, and spoke Yiddish!

Hmm, it's not so black and white though.

And Hamas <> Palestinian, Zionist <> Jew.

Luckily when Trump is back in power, his son-in-law will fix the situation there in 1 month.

Mainly because of historical reasons, with the founding father having such strong sentiments about Palestine and his daughter and granddaughter leading the largest political party in the country, the whole Palestine issue has always been on the radar in Indonesia. Especially in more extreme circles in society they were doing fundraisers and rallies during the last decades.

Israel is a rogue state, and a terrorist one.
Hamas is a terrorist group

Why would anyone want to support mass murders of any sort?

The fundraisers and rallies have had much broader participation than just 'extreme' circles.

Few people remember that Israel's early P.M.'s were declared terrorist by the British during the independance war...
David Ben Gourion, Menachem Begin.
Ironycally years later, the latter (involved in bombing the British Officers club) was given a Peace Noble price....

The word "terrorist" is abused, I laugh when I see the US declaring Wagner Group or the the Iranian Revolutionnary Guards "terrorist organisation"...

During WW2 the Germans called the Resistance movement "terrorists" whereas for us they were freedom figthers.
