New vs Used Car Buying Experience

I have never seen any sign regarding odd even number plates in Sudirman area and according to my last driver there is no app or sign anywhere on the road. Its mostly through local news through which they get to know about new regulation and traffic rules.
There is, usually behind tree branches.

use your google map, set to odd or even
As stated before, the wife was ticketed when following Google maps and the police were quick to point out that they are not Google. We can have all the discussions in the world but untimatley there should be a legal document put out by the governement that can be viewed without having to rely on a 3rd party to have the correct data. Where is this mystery document? And as far as signs, people claim they are there but I have never seen one on any of routes I have taken. Not sure what else to add to the conversation.
EDIT Forgot to add also the Google Maps for Apple for some reason will not do odd-even.

Sure, the link that I put in my previous post is a legal document (pergub = governor regulation) . I'm not sure if any later amendment though.
I'm not familiar with Jakarta streets, so always relying with Google map in my cheapo vivo, never get any problem with the polices or wrong route.
In Bali a bit different, no problem with the polices, instead, google map directed me to very small streets or road closure due to ceremony.

Are these signs in the room with you now? But seriously I am talking about Jakarta and have honestly never seen a sign nor has my wife pointed one out to me when I asked how to know which roads to use or not. I also know that my wife was ticketed one time by relying on Google Maps to determine which roads to use. The policeman explained to her that Google was not the police. So I'm not sure if trusing Google is the best idea either. I stay out of central unless it's abosulety necessary but have had a few instances of having to drive a long way in the wrong direction. Can't imagine having to navigate it daily.
There is always a sign. If no sign no need to follow.

I tried what you are saying as google maps sent me to a no-go small street in Jakarta during odd-even period, and the police showed me the sign (it was on the small pole and the sign was unreadable as it was size of A3). Did not help. But if there was no sign no way I would be ticketed.

I don't know what else to say. Maybe I am blind but on the routes I have taken, I haven't seen a clealy marked sign and my wife was ticketed using Google Maps when no sign was present either. I guess it is what it is but I avoid central every chance I get so it's not going to change my life either way.

In small streets they really put sometimes a small sign that is not visible or signs are behin tree branches. You cannot be penalized if no "marka jalan". Sometimes the police just let you go if they find you charming.

The signs are quite difficult to miss. Even the ones on smaller roads still have to include all of the below text:

later news could be better than the old one more than 5 years ago.

You think anything has changed?
in 5 years at least the major change - billion USD- i noticed, I can drive from my home in Kota wisata directly to the airport via all toll outer ring road more than 60km avoiding traffic in the city toll road.
I never use LRT and MRT myself, by understood these are now in operation; or nothing changed compared with 5 years ago?
But, honestly I don't check for the signboards of odd - even, although many of them clearly visible with my old eyes, as I'm happy with the google map in android auto.
I also dont know exactly as I never count the number of traffic lights, traffic signs, junctions, flyover, jockey for 3-in-1, beggars, in Jakarta has changed in 5 years.

A lot of the signage was upgraded in Covid, and the roads covered have now been the same for several years. Ridwan wanted to expand it to include a lot of new roads, but luckily he did not win the governor's election.
The issue I have is that there is a 20metre stretch of road near my house which I have to go through to get anywhere, and the police consider this to be part of ganjil genap (yes there is a sign), and they love waiting there to catch people. Logically speaking it shouldn't be as it does not really touch the main road, but of course it's hard to argue with them.

Toll road was in 2023. Jockey beggars were abolished long time ago in 2016. Some new sidewalks. With so much money spent around, too little, too late. There is MRT/LRT but public transport still sucks. Basically most of things started during Ahok's time, and what was done from that time not much progress.

then not very relevant to refer 5 years old news. Even if nothing or not much change, google mostly will provide you what you want - if any.

Google sent me to wrong ganjil genap street, and the sign was very small. I debated with the policemen and they showed me the sign, size of A3 paper on a pole, with small letters.

Both centurion and myself have beeen steered wrong by Google and as the police told my wife Google is not the police. So I'm not sure that Google can relied on too much. Besides they don't offer odd-even for Apple users anyway. What a weird thing to leave out.

Thanks, Google in my old cheapo vivo is very nice to me, so far.
Of course google is not police and might make mistake too or not updated - but as a human, I use google map, make sure correct settings (car , motor, odd/even, route options ect) + eyes + normal sense + defensive driving + journey management.

If Apple is willing to invest in a new factory then after transferring the money they can have access to ganjil genap data

Also, they would be allowed to sell the iPhone 16 and later models to come. Maybe if the phones and computers were made here, then they would be cheaper? I wonder if the Chinese made Oppo, are made here? Or is it the Chinese pay huge amounts of money to the Indonesian Government?

Thanks for the inputs everyone and hopefully i don't get a ticket from cops if i am unable to see the sign.
