While other countries are doing all they can to make the visit of tourists easier with free entry and so on, Indonesia and Bali in particular seem determined to make things as difficult as possible. Below are links for things required and a general information link. Not infrequently the government links do not work.

The health declaration is interesting:

"Do you have any of the following symptoms: fever, swollen lymph nodes, or skin lesions / rashes?
Yes
No
Have you had close contact with a person showing symptoms of mpox or with animals such as rodents or primates in the 21 days prior to your arrival in Indonesia?
Yes
No"

answering "Yes" to either of those questions on the Indonesian health declaration could potentially lead to:

  • Further Screening: You may be subject to more thorough health checks upon arrival, such as temperature checks, medical examinations, or even quarantine.
  • Denial of Entry: In some cases, if you exhibit symptoms or have had recent exposure to mpox, you may be denied entry into Indonesia.
And for Australian you may have seen the cost for Australian passports has gone up twice and now are possibly the most expensive in the world. How nice to be wealthy and just get an agent to handle all this stuff.

The risk of monkeypox is real. Most of spreading is trough male homosexual sex. If you had been engaged in homosexual sex acts you should be particulary careful.

Thanks for the advice. Not my cup of tea. But can't help wonder if anyone with monkey pox or other symptoms is going to declare "yes." It sounds very unpleasant.

Are you a terrorist? Is an actual question asked upon entry to the US. Wonder how many they have caught with that excellent detective work?

Which is unpleasant, to declare yes, or have monkey pox?
