Moving Jobs in Indonesia

Hi all,

I have worked for the same company for the last (almost) 6 years. I have been approached by another company to join a new project with them.

My originally KITAS, late 2016 took months to process. However renewals have never been an issue and handled by the company. Just involving a quick trip to KanIm for photos and finger prints.

I am married to an Indonesian but my kitas is still “status : work.”

Q1. Moving from one employer to the other involves cancelling on kitas and obtaining another or is it transferred between companies ?

Q2. Is it worth doing the whole wife sponsored kitas/p thing in case I do make the move ? Or could this add a layer of complication?

I’m not going to stay in Indonesia if I can’t work properly or legally.

Can't transfer. Must cancel

And wife sponsor kitap you can't work only to support yourself

It's a grey area
Much better to be officially under the new company imta sponsorship and visa etc
