Although possibly the best medical system in the world, Medicare in Australia suffers the same problem. It's hard to get to see your doctor with sometimes a 2 week waiting list because the practice is choked by hypochondriacs & or whingers & whiners who want someone to listen to their incessant negativity when their family or friends won't.
The ambulance service is free for pensioners in Australia & I just wonder if or how many critical cases have been left unattended or suffered late arrival of an ambulance because some pensioner has called an ambulance after being lightly bitten by a dog or because they have a headache in the middle of the night & refuse to take a Panadol siting "I don't like taking drugs" ....... don't laugh, it's true.
hahaha very funny macvert......but sadly very true, also in Canada, which boasts about its health service. For 20+ years I've only ever had my annual medical and prostate finger test (very enjoyable) but waited and waited and listened to old folks tales of the woe of their lives...I thought how the doctors must be bored.
Now I'm 79 I make sure I'm not repeating that scene.
