Hello, saya Ibu Zan, I used to live in Jakarta & Tangerang for 4 years. I’ve moved back to Singapore 1 year ago and our Indonesian helper also moved with us. She’s getting married soon and we need a replacement. I’m Singaporean, my husband is British and our 2 children are 3 and 1 year old.

Requirements: Must speak English, must have full set of educational certification for processing to work in Sg, have/used to have Indonesian passport. Experience working in Singapore will be a bonus. Salary SGD $600 per month. Off days on Sundays and public holiday. Additional $30 per day if required to work on Sunday or public holiday.

Please WhatsApp me at +65 92707923 if you are interested to apply. Thank you.

Just a word of caution: In fact it is not legal for an individual overseas to employ an Indonesian citizen. Only the Indonesian government and legal entities/companies which are called PPTKIS are allowed to place workers abroad. (Pasal 4 UU 39/2004). For hiring a special permission is necessary. A permit is called a SIPPTKI.

Hi Jstar, I hope you don’t assume that I’m hiring illegally. That is not the case. When I made my move back home, I got all the proper legal documents from my current helper and her work permit to work in Singapore was issued properly. She has been home to Indonesia 3x now with no issues. Please also take note that I’m not a maid agency. So I’m not doing a mass recruitment here. I just prefer to hire directly rather than going through sometimes unscrupulous agencies.

Thanks for the added info. The scrutiny on those shady agencies is luckily improving. Obviously a Singaporean work permit etc. does not mean being in order with Indonesian laws. But I'm not here to judge you in any way, for me it's only important how the people are treated.

I understand the laws can be completely overkill (there are not many countries that wouldn't allow their citizens to leave) but we need to assume the Indonesian government wants to avoid their citizens taken advantage of. But of course then you get the result that people leave for vacation abroad to work (and even don't come back)*. I spoke to a driver who will leave for Australia shortly to work on a farm; organized by an (illegal?!) agency. I say illegal since he knew and stated it was not official. Same for some Javanese on a cruise ship we met in Puerto Rico. (Their international paperwork was in order but they jokingly said it was not according to RI regulations.) And a cousin of my wife left for the US not to come back.

*I've seen people being rejected for their passport here since they suspected the person would want to work abroad.

Jstar thanks for the note but really if it’s a big issue for you for me to post and ad here, by all means you may remove my thread entirely. My only intention was to look for someone who is willing to work here and get her money upfront every month rather than pay so much to agencies without earning a single cent for almost a year or more. In Singapore by law we’re required to send our helper for medical check-up every 6 months. The Singapore government does that not only for the domestic helper’s health but also as a spot-check to ensure she is being taken care of well. Anyway if this is something that is of concern then please help delete my thread. Thanks.

Jstar is just updating you on the rules that apply here in Indonesia - I'm sure you are a very good boss to your household staff but some Indonesian workers have been treated really badly in SG/ Malaysia/ HK/ Middle eastern countries (physical assault, rape, even death) so I think the government here is right to try impose some order into the working arrangements to support these people (some of which are not in a position to help themselves).
