[h=2]DGI ready to support and carry out the implementation of the 5-year multiple visit Visa[/h]

Jakarta (15/07) - The Directorate General of Immigration (DGI) is on the way to implementing a new regulation for a 5-year multiple visit visa as set out in the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 26, 2016 on the Amendment to the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31, 2013 on Implementing Regulation of Law Number 6, 2011 on Immigration. The Head of Public Relations and General Affairs in the DGI, Heru Santoso Ananta Yudha made the announcement to journalists at the DGI building, Kuningan, Jakarta on Friday (15/07). The DGI will activate the Visa immediately while awaiting the government regulations in a technical manual for implementing the regulation. “We are ready to implement (the 5-year multiple visit visa) while also awaiting the new regulation concerning non-tax government revenue (PNBP), and other regulations which will also have some revisions from previous regulations,†Heru said.As mentioned in the preamble, the government regulation aims to simplify the extension of stay permit for ex-Indonesian citizens and their families (spouse and children of a legally married couple), and also to meet international needs for extension of stay permits for the multiple visit visa for foreigners. The Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 26, 2016 revises some points and adds one article from the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31, 2013. It not only regulates the 5-year multiple visit visa for foreigners from countries which previously were granted 1- year, but the latest regulation also states that the stay permit of the 5-year multiple visit visa for ex-Indonesian citizens and their families is extendable for a maximum of 2 times of which each extension is not more than 60 days. In the previous regulation the stay permit of multiple visit visa is non-extendable. (fijar/jones/PR DGI)
