Or cucking stool if you will.

One of the last cases is realy hysterical: The regent of Banyuasin in South Sumatra (a regency is the level below a province), Yan Anton Ferdinan, got arrested. The timing was impeccable; right after a 'party' at his house in which he invited people to say goodbye and get their blessing, just before he would go on hajj with his wife.

Yan received approx. one billion rupiah for the trip. Partly for the travel agent, partly as pocket money. This was a bribe for a future project in the education office. This was a rather young guy btw; obviously his father was regent too so besides nepotism, he did learn it from the best. It seems the political party Golkar (cf. Ahok's choice) will arrange his defense.

I think half of the Indonesian governors already got a KPK 'grilling' and the amount of regents which is caught with their fingers in the honeypot is almost uncountable (>50).

Using dirty money to go to hajj, expecting to come back clean (sins forgiven).

.
Another sinetron is about the clerk registrar Rohadi, originally one the players in the Saipul Jamul case (a bit of a long story; at first a sexual abuse case of a boy by dangdut singer, then they tried to bribe to get a reduced sentence, his lawyers were involved but also court officials, etc.).

Now it seems this person has a salary of 8 juta as court registrar. But also a billion of cash lying around, 14 cars, a semi waterpark, a freight ship and even a hospital. So he has been a busy bee. Let's see what else they can dig up.

Then I hope they choke him with it all. So many, so many. I think there is no hope. When one falls another takes their place.

From my dealings at the prison I find it interesting the penalties handed over to those found guilty of corruption.
Mostly it seems to be 4 years.
Many of them are sent to the same jail and many of them maintain a massive amount of wealth and power.
Fascinating stuff really.

Look at the fines associated with their incarcerations. A fine of less they have stolen or maybe 6 extra months if they don't pay it. They won't see that either because someone will cut their stay for some Islamic holiday.

I found out a whole lot of info, but I am not sure that it is pertinent to share in here.
I try to walk the middle ground between posting about things I have actually observed or had confirmed by several sources. I try not to talk about things I hear through prison gossip.
I have met some very powerful men in there and I deffo don't want to tread on any toes by sharing the gossip.
I guess losing one's freedom is awful, losing one's public status is awful, feeling the shame brought upon one's family and friends is awful, losing massive chunks of money is awful too. BUT I also know how it feels to be shafted by those who won't budge on certain issues unless they get a donation, I know lots of people who have been fleced by corrupt people. My sympathies lie with those who have been shafted.

Yes, but many seem to come out and it's like nothing happened because they maintain their wealth.
