KITAP Unlimited reporting

Hi All,

I just get my new Unlimited KITAP on this years 2022, which stated in passport and in KITAP Card "date of report" 2027,
Anyone have experience the reporting after 5 years,
1. How's the report progress.?
Did the same like renewing / extend the KITAP progress, form Kanim, Kanwil and again approval from Ditjen Immigration Jakarta.?
2. Once the all report progress done, did we get another KITAP with note the next 5 years date to report again.?
3. Did the KITAP are really unlimited.?

If the reporting process is just as complicated as the renewal process then it seems the only benefit to the "unlimited" is never paying again.

So... Do you need an MERP with the unlimited kitap, because the reality is you have to go to the circus every 2 years anyhow, if one wants to come and go as one pleases ..?

Yes. You still need a vaild MERP if you want to come and go as you please.

Hmmm I thought that even though the reporting procedure is supposedly simpler, we're still required to pay the Rp 10,000,000 for the KITAP itself? Maybe I understood wrong...(and glad to be in that case).

You only pay the 10 juta once. If anyone is asking for payment, it's for their own pocket. Lifetime KiTAP.

For the KITAP it is 10 juta. The remaining is merp and bio statistics. Not every Immigration demands you get a merp.

I have just done the 5-year report for my unlimited KITAP (South Jakarta). It's way easier now.
1 - hand in all the documents on a Monday (I suggest going to immigration a few days before to obtain the list of documents you need to submit and the exact wording of the letters)
2 - get the photo done on the Wednesday
3 - get the passport back on the Friday (same week).

At Jaksel immigration they now have sofas instead of hard chairs, the place is almost empty, and no waiting time at all.
No need to go to Kantor Wilayah or KanIm Pusat.
The MERP is still for 2 years only (not 5 years - maybe that will start next year?)
KITAP is free but MERP is 1.75m
Payment is done through mobile banking - no need to go to the bank downstairs, to cashier etc.
KITAP number does not change, and you do not get a new KITAP card.

If you don't get a new KITAP card, how to know when to report again? How does your bank (for example) know that your KITAP is still valid after the "Date to Report"? Did they stamp "Date to Report" in your passport? If there's none, does it mean no need to report ever again? Does it mean your KITAP now is truly "seumur hidup"?

You get a pdf document, date to report is written there+stamp.

To correct my message above:

• Day 4 - receive the new KITAP in pdf by email
• there is a new KITAP number (on the pdf document)
• new date to report is five years from your last date to report, not 5 years from the date you actually made the report (you are allowed to make the report up to 3 months earlier than the date to report)

It was mentioned on here or another expat site that the Director General had implemented a new rule/law that all Merps will have the same expiry date as the Kitas/Kitap . Still shows the 2 year Merp on the Director Generals web site . Waiting to see if anyone has received there new Kitap and Merp with the same expiry Dates and if the Merp fee has increased !! Also on the Director Generals web site the fees for Kitap renewal/extension are now 5 mil for a 5 year extension , 10mil for a 10 year extension and 15 mil for the unlimited . Anyone in the process or just renewed/extended that can confirm or squash this ?

Just looked at the Director Generals fee schedule again today 26/10/2024 . It has changed again .The 5 year extension of Kitap still the same 5mil RP , Unlimited Kitap back to 10,200,000Rp . The 10 year extension and the 15,000,000rp for the unlimited Kitap have been removed , The Merp fee is still1.750,000 for the 2 year Merp , Still no mention of the Merp now being for the same period as the Kitap !!

Lets hope so . Just looked at the fee schedule again . It's back to the original . No mention of the 10 year Kitap extension now and the unlimited Kitap back to 10,200,000rp . Merp still the same , 2 years 1,750,000rp . Becoming a daily chore keeping up with the changes .

Kanim Jakarta Utara tell me they do not have the protocols / procedures yet for long MERP; website for online MERP extension still shows 2 years.
