Hi, i previously applied for my kitap through an agent and recently renewed my passport. I am planning on traveling in next month, however am worried if i can with my KITAP and MERP currently shown electronically with my old passport details. i know i have to mutasi my KITAP & MERP to my new passport.

I have tried to update my KITAP with new passport details via the evisa website, however its showing my previous KITAP application linked to my agent's email address for confirmation email. I am reluctant to reach out to my agent to help (will likely entail a "fee"). However i seem to be going around in circles with the imigrasi live chat. I am told all application & changes are to be made online, local imigartion offices will not serve you. Anyone have experience with this? Any ideas?

If it is set up with an agent as your sponsor, there is nothing you can do without going through them. Even if they were not the sponsor, not sure how easy it would be to change the contact email with immigration. Highly likely that the quickest and easiest solution will be just to pay the agent a fee again.

Any idea if I will be able to change the email address later at the 5 year mark when i report to kantor imigrasi again?

In 2017 I came back to Indonesia with the 2 passports (old cancelled + new) , without problem .
i know i have to mutasi my KITAP & MERP to my new passport.
I suppose Immigration will not do that anymore , because both are now issued in pdf format (no stamps in the passport anymore - although you still may get a physical ITAP card under request) .
But you do need to either update your passport number or request a process to Immigration do that .

PerMen no.22 Year 2023
Article 161
(1) Documents for Stay Permit service products include:
a. Virtual Visit Stay Permit;
b. Virtual ITAS;
c. KITAS;
d. Virtual ITAP;
e. KITAP;
f. Virtual exit permit only/EPO;
g. Virtual Re-entry Permit; and
h. Virtual birth report.
I am reluctant to reach out to my agent to help (will likely entail a "fee") ... imigrasi live chat. I am told all application & changes are to be made online, ...
Few members have told us that their Kantor Imigrasi asked them to do online .

If your KITAP is sponsored by your : Indonesian spouse , relative , or PMA ; or it is a non-sponsored KITAP ; you have the right to ask your agent for the Immigration account's data/password for you to access it/make changes/requests without depending on he/she .

You will get a fee either way . There is now a 500,000rp fee for any change of details . And don't think you're talking to a human on live chat , it is a computer programed to give answers to specific questions or words it recognizes within the question . And will constantly give the same answer . From posts I've read this new E=Visa online system is a pain in the arse . The regional imigrasi office here in south/east java . jawa timur has gone to a siber system , anything you ask or want to look at now opens the director generals web site . They never answer there phones , emails , facebook messages etc . Everything is now whatsapp or instgram . Great if you're a computer wizz or smart phone zombie .
