Jimmy Carr is in Indonesia and will appear in Jakarta tonight. Next stop Bali.

If you are a Brit you will know who Jimmy Carr is. He is one of the very few un-woke.. non politically correct comedians left in the dystopian, ultra woke UK.

There have been many attempts to "cancel" him but somehow he is still around.

If you are easily triggered his style of comedy is not for you.

You'll need a ID to prove you are over 18 before they let you in.

I'm joking
He did say tonight
But I wonder why he even bothered to post without saying where or when or how to get tickets or how much

In didn't know Kokas has a venue / theater.

Yes also cinema and function rooms
Same as Lotte Avenue and even Kuncity has some huge event spaces ballrooms function rooms auditorium etc

I noticed they have only sold about 10-15% of the tickets so far. Jimmy Carr's humour is not something that would translate outside the UK, Indonesians wouldn't understand it, probably not even Americans. Very strange to be doing a gig in Jakarta. I'd like to go and give him some support, but the cheapest ticket is 950k (including fees)! Maybe they'll give them away for free on the day to get the numbers up.

The venue at Kokas is up at the top and quite well hidden. I saw Kenny G play there a few years ago. I'm surprised it isn't used or publicised more.

I saw some videos of him on Youtube. Not really my humor indeed. Also his laugh is annoying.

I enjoy Jimmy Carr's humor, but a Tuesday evening is a tough nut to crack. That day, specifically is even more complicated for me, so I guess I will hope somebody posts TikToks from the event. As for the style of humor, I think it resonates with Americans (such as myself) who enjoy jokes of the Monty Python style. Where Carr might struggle is in the area of crowd work since the reactions would be different from the usual ones he gets.

Yes, even in the UK, only a minority of people like him. He is best when he is on panel shows making sarcastic comments about other people. As a stand up I don't think he's that good. But maybe his performance in Kokas will blow me away.

I'm going but the price is ridiculous and I bought the cheapest tickets (whoever is buying the diamond ones is mad).

I bet the diamond seats will be sold out ... all about "Gengsi" ...

Agreed. Didn't know, so I went on Youtube, I lasted 3 minutes.

Basically boring.... and I have hanged out in British pubs for years .....

From the seat map it looks like total capacity is 1500 seats, and so far they have sold 180/300 of the diamond tickets and maybe between a quarter and a third of the others. It looks like they have not put on sale the additional 600 seats at the side which would take capacity up to 2100.

I don't remember Monty Python doing jokes about disabled children etc. He's probably as far away from Monty Python as it's possible to get!
