Job Title: English teacher

Job Location: Jakarta Japanese School, Bintaro Sektor 9.

Job description: The Jakarta Japanese School (JJS) is an elementary and junior high school located in the south Jakarta suburb of Bintaro. The school caters for the children of Japanese nationals living in Indonesia. The English Department of JJS works closely in tandem with a team of Japanese teachers to provide English lessons to students ranging from grade 1 to 9. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Responsibilities: Planning and teaching lessons, attending school functions and participating in extracurricular activities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
Teaching certificate (TESL, CELTA )
English spoken as a first language (From U.K., U.S.A., Aus, NZ, Can, SA)
Can commit to a 12 month contract
Currently based in Indonesia (able to come in for a demo class)
At least five years teaching experience

Salary: The monthly salary will be around Rp. 33,000,000

Driver and car provided for pick up and drop off within a reasonable distance of the school

Medical Insurance (Allianz) for employee, spouse and dependents
Inclusion in the BPJS health scheme
Inclusion in the BPJS pension scheme (JHT)
+-10 weeks paid vacation per year
Visas and work permits are provided

The job will start in late August 2024. Applications will be accepted until the 28th of June 2024. Interviews and demo classes will take place thereafter. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

If memory serves, that school has advertised for a new teacher every year for the last three years.
Maybe longer, but I have no experience beyond that.

If correct, it makes me wonder if they want people more than people want them.
 
Looks much better than other postings for 'Teaching' jobs here in Indo: they actually require experience and don't mention a maximum age of 25-30 years.
