Is China's growing influence really so soft?

I was just reading how some Indonesian influencers went on a tour of some of China's hotspots, to see how Progressive, and modern China has become. Also how China is building a high speed rail system, and wants to help build the new North Bali airport! And how the Indonesian Government is letting this come slowly more and more, by accepting their money. Why is China doing all of this, I wonder? Is it out of the kindness of their Hearts? Or to influence Indonesia's perspective on China's growing control of the South China sea?
I say be careful of the Dragon! It may be walking, and talking, softly now, but after it has spent massive amounts of money in Indonesia, it is going to want something Major in Return someday! Remember the Dragon has a Fiery Breath when it's Angry! ‍

I was thinking about this subject last night, and thought since the President in America now is Insane, and a total Narcissist, in which he only does what makes him look good, and doesn't give a Damn about the American people or America's allies. He admires all the Dictators, and wishes he could be one, but doesn't have the balls. He cannot be Trusted to help Indonesia or SE Asia. The next best powerful country is China, which is the closest Mega power. I think it's great that China is developing so rapidly, and modernizing. They could be a Great neighbor to have, if with their improved technological advances, to help out all the smaller surrounding countries in SE Asia. Even Australia, and New Zealand.
But, I am worried they would not do this out of being a Good Neighbor and helping all their neighbor's, just to advance everyone's living conditions. But to gain an advantage over everyone they help, and have control of everyone's valuable resources, and political influence!
So I will put out the Hope that China will step up as a Good Neighbor and truly Help everyone with kindness in their Hearts, and true Altruism!

I like to simplify things , so as countries are governed by people and we do good and bad things too (no saint and no devil) , we all ignore some subjects/feelings , we all are biased , ... , then we should expect anything to happen .
