Hello everyone, I am US citizen married to Indonesian, I have been here for about 1 year. If any expats living in Malang (especially women), it would be nice to make new friends. I live in Nongko Jajar area but very often go to Malang

Welcome to the forum. You might want to give some more background on how you came to Indonesia.

Your screen name also is intriguing. I spent a lot of time in Argentina in the ‘00s. Buenos Aires was one of my favorite cities.

Welcome! I second @Jaime C 's questions. In addition: are you enjoying Indonesia? Experiencing any sense of isolation? You said you came to Indonesia about a year ago - right in the heart of the global pandemic, in other words. Yikes!

Hello. How are you finding the Malang area? I have been there a few times and found it memorable. I especially liked traveling through the hills. There's nothing like a chilly morning on a hilltop after spending years in the tropics.

Hey! Yes, actually I had been here before about 5 months before, and then I came straight to get married. Yes! It was amazing! Just the day after I arrived the borders closed. I don't sense isolation... Actually I serve with my husband in a Wellness. Using Natural Remedies for healing. Where do you live?

I'm in the Bandung area, way off to your west. It's actually a reasonable drive if you and the hubby are into that sort of thing, what with the new toll road and all. (After Covid calms down, of course.) There are lots of little towns with points/foods of interest along the way to stop at so that the trip takes at least a week if you take it slow. Actually, I'd say a week is still traveling with a plan to get somewhere. You could spend months traveling that northern coast if you wanted to try every local specialty and see every old fort and temple.

My feet are getting a bit itchy here recently 😆

Whoa, hey you're Mexican? I grew up in LA. If you ever decide to open a Mexican restaurant give me a shout. I will travel to Malang just to eat there.
