Seems high. I find it hard to relate that Indonesia claims it is a free nation when blasphemy seems to be the catch all law followed by the laws pertaining to slander basically making opinions and truth towards others crimes. Maybe it's the lack of traffic law enforcement that makes everyone feel free.

You probably have a point here.😂

Edit: i actually talked with a farmer a while ago and he told me something about not having to worrie about too many laws here and taxation. That's why he feels Indonesia is more free than Europe.

That is partially thrue, and it is not a bad thing.

But killing personal freedoms kills the creativity of the society, hence the progress.

As I don't indulge in either slander or blasphemy I should be quite free🤔 Especially as I am unlikely to be pulled over for a roadside sobriety check.

Besides a few days out of a year, who gets pulled over for anything?

So, breaking the law and doing as you please is a personal freedom?

Kinda hard to find the right way. Too many laws indeed kill creativity and also opportunities for each individual. No laws, which is not the case in Indonesia, also isn't the right way. The problem in Indonesia is more like that there is not enough enforcement of existing laws and it often feels random.

Lack of excessive regulation is partially personal freedom-as a republican you should be familiar withthe concept.. Europe is known for excessive regulation.

That is exactly what I said. Lack of enforcement. If laws are not enforced, why obey them? Stolen freedoms?

Where are the excessive regulations. I doubt the traffic laws are excessive but they still are not enforced. Granted, blasphemy and the laws pertaining to one being insulted even for true comments are excessive. The US too has excessive regulations that in fact take away freedoms of some to appease the few. I an no longer a Republican due to the current state of the US GOP. I am an Independent now. A conservative independent. A social moderate who thinks people should live and let live.
