Previously my salary was nett so.

Or maybe there is a site or a place I can calculate.

If single, no dependents and earn Rp1 miliar/year.... tax will be Rp 208,800,000 i.e. slightly under 21%.
If gross earning is Rp 500Juta tax will be Rp. 76,500,000 or 15.3%

I've no idea what is BBJS. Can you elaborate please.
The only BBJS I could find were these people and I don't think they do Indonesian taxes....http://www.bbjsadvisors.com/

Edit: just realized you might have meant BPJS...that's different to the tax system. It is a mandatory contribution from salary but I don't know if it is considered a tax-deductible from gross income or not.
I only did the math on tax % to test my own mental acuity.... then decided to post as it may be of interest to the OP. I had no intent to present myself as a tax expert.

Re: BPJS

From our excellent BPJS article:

For employees the premium is set at 5% of monthly salary up to a salary cap of Rp 8 million. In the private sector, the employer is responsible for 4% and the employee has 1% of their salary deducted.

For tax purposes, the employers contribution is also considered income (penghasilan), and the 1% employee deduction can not be deducted from net income.

Because of the cap, the maximum employer contribution is Rp 320,000/mo (5% * Rp 8 million).

Do I understand that last part right? So no matter what your salary the max would always be 4% from 8jt = 320rb/mo ?

Correct, that is the maximum contribution from employer to BPJS. It its reasonable for Class 1 coverage. For private individuals, Class 1 is only Rp 80,000 per person per month. So the 5% total employee contribution is equivalent to coverage for a family of 5.

Thanks for the overview.

In my homeland children can hand in their own tax declaration. So, they have their own tax allowance for example. Is that possible in Indonesia as well? Or would the income of children always be added to the income and tax declaration of the parents? In my homeland it is not that uncommon that grandparents or parents open a shares portfolio for the children. The children have income in the form of capital gains then and the parents usually have to fill out the tax declaration for the children then.

Is this the case in Indonesia as well? Or is the income of children always included in the tax declaration of the parents? Is it even allowed for a child to have a portfolio in Indonesia? :)
