Hello all, I am curious if the dentures made with soft plastic, or silicone. I'm not sure what the material is, are more comfortable than the old hard plastic variety? I have a pair of the old hard plastic ones, and the top plate with the plastic across the middle drives me crazy. It's like wearing the bottom of a plastic water bottle on the roof of my mouth. I still have a few original teeth on the bottom, so the bottom set, just fits around the gums. No problem there. So, if anyone has any experience with the softer variety, please give a comment on if they're more comfortable or not, than the hard dentures?
Also please tell where you had yours made, and the cost? Thanks

Probably many people interested in the subject, as they are coming to the old age, but still with enought teeth so cannot share the experience.

I didn't even now that soft plastic ones existed.
Had several theeths repaired this year, with the hard plastic method and I am very sstisfied with the result.
Main purpose was esthetics, nothing more horrible than looking at someone with missing or rotten theeths.....🙈🙈🙈.
Because yes, I still go out to listen to the music .....

Unfortunately, I had a mouthful of bad teeth, and was in the States on the dole. They wouldn't pay for implants, so I lost all the teeth on the top, and most on the bottom. They would only pay for the hard plastic dentures, and said oh, you'll get used to wearing them. Well I never got used to the full plate across the roof of my mouth. The bottom were only partial because I still had a few teeth left to clip on to.
Looking back, I wish they could have saved a few on the top, or been rich enough to pay for implants. When I went to Penta Medica, for some dental work, they told me about the new type of soft dentures. I enquired about the cost and it came out to 16 million, for the full top plate and bottom partial combined.
That was awhile ago, so I don't know the current cost. I would like to get some, but before I make such a big investment, I would like to know what people that have used these, think about them, and are they more, or just them same as the old hard style.
So someone, please leave a comment if you have used them. Thanks
