hi john , as far as I know the service was set up to run from the pier at kedonganan to boom beach at banyuwangi , tickets were on sale around south bali last year , but no one bought any so it never "kicked off" , and they were bloody expensive as I remember

I note on the website Marina srikandi the route is still on the website , but you cannot book it.

Been looking at this also, but could not find anything. Same as direct flights from Banyuwangi to DPS.
We spend alternatively 3 weeks in Bali, and 3 in the Ginteng area near Banyuwangi. Usually bali to jungle by car, as we always bring stuff and food for the frog bule to survive there, and do the return by plane.
A direct connection would be nice. The 7h car / ferry / car is a killer for my back.
Any info is welcome !

I may be wrong but thought I'd read in Bali Discovery recently that the fast boat Jimbaran to Banyuwangi was operating soon. I haven't kept any past copies of Bali Discovery but if anyone has maybe check publications in the last couple of months for that article.

Bali Discovery has an article today regarding the expansion of Banyuwangi Airport to International standards. I would think, given this operation, that a fast ferry to Bali would be viable, although the report doesn't mention that.

hmmm currently there is only 8 flights a day surabaya and jakarta , with the greatest respect to Banyuwangi, Im not sure it would attract international flights , its a bit of a "hardship posting" , the only interests are ijen volcano , g land surfing , thats about it , the beaches are unattractive and limited facilities for foreigners , shopping etc .
