I have read some really helpful advice on returning after deportation, however I am struggling with the process and wondering if anyone can help. I am an Australian citizen with a girlfriend in Bali who has her own spa. Unfortunately at the beginning of the year I posted a picture on social media and immigration deported me as it was against my tourist visa rules. i have since contacted them and they said I should be able to return with no problem.
I contacted a visa agent who said he could remove my name from the banned list, then after two weeks said he needed another 3000$ after initial $2000 payment. Then I have contacted a lawyer who simply wants to apply for a visa with out checking the list.
What I am really hoping for is some recommendations of someone who has the expertise to go to Jakarta on my behalf and remove me from the banned list and get me the required certificate so I can apply for a visa myself. Many thanks for any help

I don't know where to begin....

Of course not for free! Just want someone to recommend a decent agent. I’m not sure what you are inferring when you say something missing…that is what happened. I was deported for advertising my girlfriends business on social media.

Please be aware that since a few months there is a BIG crackdown by Immigration Dept on any transgression on visa rules.
And they watch all social media....
Like any law enforcement / tax dept does in any country. On social media people are giving them the stick to be beaten with.

Stay off it !

Absolutely right, do you have any suggestions as to what I do next? It’s really hard to get information on.

There is a well written article from expatindo.org. It was written in January 16, 2017, so it might need updating from those who have done that recently.

Also, if you use the search feature on this forum, you will find a reasonable number of first-hand accounts from individuals who have dealt with similar situations.

This are just a few:

Very helpful information…Thankyou so much. I’m guessing at this point it is probably best to get my girlfriend to go to Jakarta to attempt to remove me from the list, though I can see there is no guarantee.
if anyone has dealt with an honest agent could you please pm me.
again…Thankyou
