An interesting read...though using dated information to form the hypothesis:

LEAKED: CIA FRONT PREPARING COLOR REVOLUTION IN INDONESIA

Apparently based on leaked files dispatched from the Indonesian office of the International Republican Institute (IRI) back to headquarters in Washington during June, July and August 2023. (IRI is a core component of NED).

A U.S. diplomatic apparatchik present mentioned Jakarta’s State Intelligence Agency (BIN) had “recently warned” the Embassy “not to interfere” in the 2024 elections ?

...this had motivated the U.S. Embassy to “continuously support” IRI’s cloak-and-dagger activities to “further implement U.S. policies while avoiding Indonesian regulations.”

I got the impression the author has never been to Indonesia and knows nothing about the country. He has other articles that seem to be cia conspiracy stuff like

https://www.mintpressnews.com/false...tion-chinese-police-station-narrative/285021/
Ja, the author seemed to have slapped together data to support his/her hunch.

I do agree with the author's premise that the anglo-american establishment would LOVE to have (another?) puppet installed here...Jokowi's comments about ASEAN not being a proxy for any outside powers was a public slap in the face for certain elements.

Invoking the "Bandung Spirit" may be a dangerous thing to do...those types of things can trigger military coups and brutal dictatorships, especially in a contested region. Remember, there are already whispers about terrorist threats being made. Some might guess that the military wouldn't object to such a move.

The USA stands for democracy and freedom and the rights of US corporations and business interests to access if not plunder the resources and profit potential of countries around the globe. To that end it will use whatever covert measures are necessary to negate if not eliminate those perceived to threaten the USA's particular vision for "democracy and freedom." Most major powers operate along not dissimilar lines. Meddling in Indonesia's affairs is now a well established tradition with the US being conspicuous but one doesn't doubt China et al are also busy behind the scenes trying to bend the forthcoming elections to suit their own interests.

Correct. Better Indonesian corporations to plunder their own country than US corporations plunder Indonesia.

You have never lived in communist country, otherwise you would sing another song.

Well, I did spend time in Vietnam immediately after the war and gained enough insight to decide I would not like to live in a Communist country. You might note that in my post I also mentioned China et al up to using similar methods. I have spent enough time in Africa to see how China ruthlessly moves to tie up resources with little regard for the impact on poorer communities in resource areas.

Despite the independence stance, I noticed that many ASEAN countries are very happy to see again the US fleet near their waters.

I don't see much difference in the upcoming election candidates. They are all Islamic and have track records in using identity politics to gain power. None of them seem to be competent or have a history of doing anything positive. It's not like the last time when there was a real black and white choice.

They have already gone the routes of gathering the islamic votes. Anies with choosing the head if the NU as a VP, Ganjar leading calls to prayers so far. Prabowo, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't fall back in with getting the radicals support just as he did in previous elections that he of course lost.

Of course they are all Muslim. No non Muslim would ever be backed by any political party. They also think that any presidential candidate should be Javanese.

I noticed that in English, people often use a 'double negative' ... makes it difficult for non-English speakers to follow the discussion. Just saying.

It looks to me the OP of the second quote in your post was a bit confused about the use of double negatives also.

OK. Then according to you, a native English speaker does English wrong because a non native English speaker thinks English should be spoken to fit their delicate feelings. Got it. Forgot it.

I am sorry that I offended you. Not my intention. Also nothing to do with my feelings. Just saying that in this forum are also non-English speakers who like to follow the discussions, which is already difficult without unnecessary double negatives. Not saying you have to dumb yourself down. Far from that.

I'd argue the opposite. Indonesian corporations often value human lives (even ones from their own country) far less than US corporations.

They already make a secret deal for this but this time it is not announced openly, avoiding the same mistake like in the last general election.

Saturday. Gus Yusuf's Confession: Anies Says Group 212, FPI, and HTI close to Prabowo.

If the difference is marginal, you will need their supports to get you through. In the meantime, you also need the main support. Knowing that the other side representing the majority of voters do not want these groups anywhere near, a secret deal is the way to go. What would happen if FPI and HTI are in the government ? There are already a few examples in the history.

Information about FPI and HTI

Also, the West would like to install a puppet who will allow them to continue exploiting Indonesian natural resources, similar to what they did when helping Suharto rise to power.

Indonesia holds the world's largest nickel reserves, estimated roughly accounts for 29% of the global nickel mine reserves. One of the top countries in the world with gold, copper, tin mine reserves.

Prabowo Subianto is the last person the USA would want to be president of Indonesia, he just shamed the USA by exposing them of spreading fake news.

After the meeting, on August 24, 2023, the US Department of Defense issued a joint press statement stating that the two ministers shared the view that China's expansive maritime claims in the South China Sea are inconsistent with international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

According to the statement, Austin and Subianto also jointly condemned the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and demanded its complete and unconditional withdrawal from Ukrainian territory.

No joint statement was issued following last week's meeting, Subianto reiterated.

The West also loathe Prabowo for his Russia-Ukraine peace proposal.
