Thank you. Yes, it seems that there are plenty of good clinics reommendung themselves. I wondered what people's experience had been. Which would they recommend. Ciputra would be one possiblity

I found the level of english in the large eye clinic on simatupang to be poor. Maybe good eye doctors but my bahasa indonesia and their english just wasnt good enough for me to be comfortable. I think the name is now Klinic Mata Nusantara. Personally id go abroad for this.

I'm not worried about the language as I've been in Indonesia for many years, more concerned about the quality of the treatment. But it should be a relatively simple operation, (unless something goes wrong!)

I had a relative who used Jakarta Eye Center in Menteng ... over a decade ago, so it might have changed by now, but it went well. This is on the recommendation of their son-in-law who's a doctor that is happy to refer patients overseas for some surgical procedures, so that's a sort of vote of confidence in my book.

Yes, I was thinking that may be the best place. A lot of experience and hopefully good equipment

I have been to Jakarta Eye Center and had excellent results. The pain management after was a little lacking but that seems normal for SE Asia. I would go back to them if needed.

Our experiences with JEC are positive. My late mum had cataract surgery in 2015 then MIL in 2018. Daughter had Lasic, and last year wife underwent retinal detachment surgery at JEC Tomang. All went well, no issues.

My MIL had both eyes done at RS Hermina in Bandung. Covered totally by BPJS basic insurance. Doctors were good. Lots of waiting around for appointments and procedures.
