Where I stay at an assisted elderly clinic, they have a staff of young girls, that come and work for free, for three months, with the pretense of future work in Japan as a nurse. They say they have no university training, or nursing school training. And they think they are going to Japan to be nurses. I told them it seems to me, that without nursing qualification, they will only be servants to people. Maybe elderly, or what I don't know. But they have this illusion that working here without pay, for three months, they will go to Japan and be Nurses. Is this the clinics taking advantage of these girls, for free labor, with the false promise of being nurses in Japan? If someone has any knowledge of this subject, please explain this to me.

Maybe you can try keep in touch with some of them when they finish their 3 month contract to see if they do get sent to Japan.
I know that there is a big need for nursing assistants in Japan and they may prefer to do the training of them themselves over there so there is some chance this could be part of an onboarding process - but for me 3 months unpaid internship is very unfair.

And more details here:

Seems quite complete, with a lot of expenses covered by the program, including 6 months of intensive Japanese lessons in Jakarta (with housing, meals and pocket money of $10 day covered).

I hope these nurses you mention are working through this program. You could ask them if they are part of GtG Japan?

I think you often don’t read the replies to your own posts?!

Actually, I do read the replies and try to be objective. These girls here are far from being in a G+G program. They are being exploited by a system here in Bali. I saw it happen in Ubud at a hotel I stayed also. Every three months, a crew of students would come and do all the manual labor with no salary, with the understanding that they were in training to work at hotels. They din't learn English or have any interactions with the tourist, they just gave the boss free labor! In my mind, that is Exploitation!

Exploitation or failure since they can’t meet the required skill levels, but yes something is wrong in that ‘educational’ system and/or the mentality.

There are so many sharks and scammers offering bait of well paid work overseas and so many employers eager to take advantage of trusting but gullible people. This is a worldwide phenomena. Employment of would be nurses at your residence without any pay is very suspicious and most likely to be a scam.

Students following a bachelor study program Hotel and Tourism at some university. Also in Europe those students will not get paid for their work. Maybe only a compensation for e.g. travel cost.

Yeah could very well be. Lots of stuff like this excists. Sure, some work for scammers but, yeah again, it's not like real programmes with no payment don't excist.

These students I speak of are not taking any university program. Most have just finished high school and are promised these dreams, by Corrupt Bali bosses! Some did have something to do with a Japanese school here. I would to hear some input from someone that has talked to one of these kids, about their work abroad in Japan.

Yeah it's a shame if they really get scammed.
My niece and her bf who both work in Bali in some of the discussed sectors just told me that there are indeed a lot of scams going on
