Any opinions on Netflix Indonesia?

I'm tempted to try the free month trial for Netflix Indonesia and have a 10meg connection.

Will that be enough for HD? How is the catalogue here? If it all seems good I will go for it.

If it's unreliable, missing most of the content, or cut to ribbons by censors then I will probaly give it a miss.

Cheers

It's offering me to sign up for a free month. I'm a bit hesitant to give them my credit card details now.

I am using them and if you can live with the limited access to content compared to the US it's pretty good and no censorship. We are currently watching Orange is the New Black and there is nothing being censored :)
Using a Chromecast allows you to view on your main TV and it works much better than iFlix which doesn't support it directly.

If it the same programs I'd likely subscribe. I was bummed when they blocked the US version in January.

I don't think that Netflix is offering an Indonesia only version - I signed up through my Apple TV, with a US apple ID, but they knew I was overseas from my internet address - so I didn't get the US version but an international version (I think my credit card was charged by a Netherlands company). Not all the same content as the US, and not as up to date/quickly available for some things (e.g. they are still not showing the latest season of House of Cards but the earlier seasons are there). Some are there completely (e.g. Orange is the new black as someone mentioned). There really is plenty of content and uncensored. There is too much to watch to ever run out of options and I am discovering tons of new TV series including some made for Netflix, and a bunch of British ones. Really worth it IMHO. I don't have cable TV and I never run out of things to watch. I have no problem streaming it with my home internet. No VPN needed.

Perhaps you should expand your explanation for those of us who are less tech savvy.

Netflix is useless unless you have a fast unlimited internet connection.

Even if you do.. there are plenty of other free ways to get movies over the internet.

Isn't it clear Jamie? He invites Yoda over for some drinks, they light a fire and end up loaded and lying down on their sides putting sticks in the fire?!?! Pass out they do....tv watch no need.... Problem solved.

unlimited definitely needed - but by today's standards I don't think fast internet exists in Indonesia. I have zero problems streaming Netflix from my internet here.....

on your last point, I guess this comes back to both the practical and ethical question.....I would rather pay $8-9 bucks a month and have extensive and legitimate content, rather than deal with all the "free" and mostly pirated workarounds.

I have a 10mb connection and sometimes things buffer depending on what quality I'm watching. ie, 1080p. And as for kodi. It is the equivilant of streaming torrents but with a pretty easy to use interface. No downloading involved of said content and no VPN needed to view. And with plenty of add ons, its pretty easy to find what you're looking for. As for me I watch movies that are still in the theaters in the US as well as k drama for the wife.

We have a 15mb connection here in Indonesia and it's really fast. No buffering on Youtube or the iplayer.

Only yesterday i received an email with the option to upgrade to 30 mb from 15mb. I am considering it but not convinced that it improve an already good connection.

And yes.. most of the other content is free and "pirated" and many people would feel uncomfortable about that.

It doesn't seem to worry most Indonesians though and some of the latest movies are available for peanuts in the malls.. some of it good quality as well.

I have "supposedly" 10 mb connection (I pay for 10mb but in reality it is actually much slower most if not all of the time). Netflix (through apple tv) never freezes or buffers on me - works seemlessly.

Just curious, what internet provider do you use.?
