You raise an interesting question Jstar ! My wife is Javanese, and I'm Sundanese, so I can definitely attest to some differences between the two. It's like an ocean of cultural contrasts between us, but hey, love conquers all, and I'm happily swimming in that ocean!

One key difference is that Javanese people tend to be more serious, while we Sundanese are known for being lighthearted and fun. In fact, whenever my wife and I have a disagreement, I like to say that it's just the "Es Campur Jawa-Sunda" adding some spice to our marriage!

I don't know your intention with that question and comment, but while there's some truth from the historical perspective, let's remember that the past is behind us and focus on the present and future.

As for my marriage, despite our cultural differences, we've learned to embrace and appreciate the uniqueness of each other's backgrounds. You could say that our marriage is like that delicious "Es Campur Java-Sunda," blending the best of both cultures to create something wonderful and refreshing!

Let's celebrate the beauty of cultural diversity and the incredible connections it can create, rather than dwelling on past conflicts. By doing so, we can contribute to a more harmonious and inclusive world for all.

That's an odd question to be honest. Would you ask a similar question in a mixed marriage between a Dutch or Japanese with an Indonesian spouse due to the history of these countries in Indonesia?

On that whole demographics, history and relationships between population groups: Of course it exists everywhere, the clichés and prejudice against other groups in society, but I have not seen many countries where it was this strong.

It's essential to remember that relationships and marriages are built on love and understanding, not defined by historical events or cultural differences. As you've mentioned, it wouldn't be fair to ask similar questions to those in mixed marriages involving Dutch or Japanese or individuals from any other countries because of the history of those countries in Indonesia or else where.

Let's focus on celebrating the love and connection between people, regardless of their backgrounds.

Hi jstar! You're right, clichés and prejudices exist everywhere, but it's always interesting to see how people navigate these differences in various parts of the world. Everyone has their own level of development, and that's what makes life so colorful!
