Getting LOANS or KPR for housing as an expat
Save your salary, purchase a property in your home country and use that to pay the rent on your property in Indo. If you have limited savings, the last think you want to do is invest in property here (IMHO)- Will_M

Is your region / payment system on your phone set to US or Indo ? I remember always getting an error when I tried to purchase / rent movies using my iCloud account / Apple because of the region stilll being in the UK- Will_M

HSBC Expat account is managed out of Jersey I believe. Nothing to do with Indo at all. You still have to register NPWP and provide bank statement or utility bill as proof of residency before they’ll open the account. Actually, the FMD outbreak in 2022 obliterated local farms in West Java and East Java. Local milk production is improving but the majority of the milk in the supermarkets is reconstituted import.- Will_M

Old Indovision Box with Smart TV.
Firstly, I purchased a “AV2HMDI” converter from Tokped that required a USB power supply. It worked okay but not great picture quality. Secondly, I got my company to cancel Indovsion and put in icon+ fiber optic. Proved a winner as EPL moved to Vidio and F1 is now on Bein connect.- Will_M

I think you need to open your eyes to what is really happening in Gaza. No denying that Hamas is a terrorist group. However collective punishment is also a war crime and the UN stated that 7/10 didn’t happen in a vacuum. What’s currently happening is near genocide.- Will_M

Money transfer out of Indonesia (the other way). Any suggestions?
Generally speaking, BCA offer a better rate when you transfer more than 5k USD. I’ve transferred hundreds of thousands over the years without a problem. I think transferring a few quid here and there then WISE maybe a benefit. Using BCA, I have 2-3 of their staff on WhatsApp I can contact if...- Will_M

Hi Patrick, I live and work a few hours south of Bandung. I’ve been here for the last 6 years. There’s a load of bules in KBP I believe.
