Regarding computers...my NIK was in their computer also. KTP valid etc.. But I could not register everywhere where NIK was needed online. I think Prabowo will win, but fundamentalists will want their piece of pie this time. and somewhere will have to give. Nationalism is on rise globally, and I think it will reflect in Indonesia in worst possible way. On the other hand if Anies wins, I think sharia way of living it will speed up...- Edd

What do you think that presidential change will make any stir about laws considering WNA/foreigners and related things in the aftermath ? I think either Prabowo or Anies takes it it will be more stricter either way. Although in Thailand legislation of weed came out of the blue from junta. I...- Edd

I was deep inside hoping that over time Indonesia will overcome and bit soften over these prehistoric customary laws. But they went more rigid by this new law. Question is what (or who) is next.- Edd

hmm Yea. sorry my mistake it expires in 2024 not 2026 as I wrote ! Yea it is common sense actually. The problem is anyone could get stranded abroad more than 365 easily and then all this previously goes down the drain. I was strained in Indonesia while COVID, and all those incompatible rules...- Edd

KITAP automatically cancelled after 1y/365 days abroad ?
Hi I have been abroad with my wife (WNI/Indonesian) more than 1 year (unexpectedly). On my apparently lifelong KITAP date of expiry is 2027 (when I suppose only to report back to immigration) and my MERP expires 2026. Am I able to return to Indonesia ? Is that 1y timeframe persuaded viciously...- Edd
