    KITAP extension, Tangerang

For me not at all. It just included three visits in total to the own kantor Imigrasi. (They did not require e letter of impediment from the embassy but a statement RT/RW/Kelurahan about the marital status.) And of course a visit to CatSip.

    Prepare for this : re-denomination of IDR1,000 to IDR1.

The last time the cent was used was before I was born. So I don’t think there are any transactional systems still operational with sen. Probably the governmental systems still have it? It was quite an effort to introduce the euro in countries as Italy Belgium. Some (home grown or commercial)...

Of course there would be regulations on rounding up. As if anybody would care.

Hello from a soon-to-be ex from the US

Officially you need an EPO of course when leaving permanently. There is no way a ‘pajak’ representative will wait for you in the airport to look into your financial affairs. There is no NPWP so no tax reporting so no information at all.

Driving with Int'l License but without Passport

For those with a lot of time. Interesting research paper about ‘laws of ratification of an international treaty in Indonesian laws hierarchy’: https://media.neliti.com/media/publications/226561-laws-of-ratification-of-an-international-3212e549.pdf On page 3 the steps needed.

You can absolutely do it yourself and save a lot of money. Many threads on that over here. Btw, I think the first ITAP extension can already generate the lifelong version.

    Prepare for this : re-denomination of IDR1,000 to IDR1.

Sanering has nothing to do with the Dutch word anymore. (It‘s even pronounced very differently.) Over there it’s practically never used in an economic context, it means to clean up. Like a plot of land where a chemical factory or gas station was based. Over here it simply means devaluation...

    Prepare for this : re-denomination of IDR1,000 to IDR1.

Simplification? At first there was a period in which it was possible to pay in both currencies. Chaos. And the grabflation went beserk, esp. since as you say in some currencies it became a one to one conversion. But even if you had 42 Belgian Francs for a coffee to become 1 euro, it was very...

159 countries lost visa free access to Indonesia

Currently it has become very complicated to make a temporary booking. And even the airlines which give you a 24-36-72 hour consideration window to pay (for a price), don’t really provide you with an official booking, just a somewhat vague reservation. Which can be refused in the application. The...

Hello from a soon-to-be ex from the US

That was a long time ago; Indonesian citizens/residents had to pay taxes (fiskal, after some time it became a fixed fee of 500K or so)*. And later -like 10 years ago- the Departure Tax or Passenger Service Charge for everybody was canceled. Well, incorporated in the ticket prices, so you didn’t...

    Trend JKT; outside entertaining space

Thanks. Yes, even at 2.30 PM it’s rather busy. (We always go outside of rush hours and avoid weekends.) Which is somewhat surprising since it’s not really cheap (300K++ for an adult). And it’s rather compact, from the pictures etc. you could get the impression it’s a sizable restaurant but there...

Yeah my son likes the Oakleys too for cycling. You see them a lot in the cheap malls and ITC’s which is an indication those are replica’s. He bought them at a Seis I think.

Ida Dayak - true or false

Not worse, it did not improve. On banyumasterkini.com, they published Ida Dayak's cellphone number as +6285318303571. Of course I can give no warranty whatsoever it is not a scam.

    An El Niño year…. 🌞

A district in the US state of Oregon has filed a lawsuit against 17 companies, including oil giants BP, Shell and Exxon Mobil. Multnomah County, which also includes the city of Portland, is demanding a total of $51 billion from the group of companies. Multnomah County claims that the CO2...

Not during the day. Evenings yes, weekends definitely. So then the (9PM) time is a cut off from resto to bar and table with minimum charge. Many different rules depending on group size.

Driving with Int'l License but without Passport

Of course nobody will go to court over this, but the question is which is higher in the hierarchy and has priority; a signed international convention or a police regulation. 🥱

In the evening, Black Owl is kinda cool. There’s also one in Kelapa Gading. With live music, rather expensive food and minimum spend table reservations in the weekends. But a nice experience.

If you like sushi, there is an all you can eat called ‘Secret Sushi by Okinawa Sushi’. You order the fresh ones which are rather good, the fried stuff, dessert and drink you get yourself.

I think it has also to do with production location and import rates. Cars here (the imported ones) are expensive and comparable to countries as The Netherlands where the taxation is crazy (Denmark is the worse as I remember). Therefore the local production and assembly. But certain branded...
