Nuclear submarines and regional security.

Australia has been dragged in a "coalition" by the US.
It is one of the US favorite strategies, drag "allies" into their stupid ideas (like invading an country for no reason), so that they can claim it is not the USA vs "X" but a "coalition of democratic countries figthing against evil"
What a joke. V.N., Afhganistan, Irak.....

Concerning the subs, the US naval industry can barely keep up with their own needs.
What will likely happen,.is that Australia will be handed over 2nd hand (20y old) nuclear powered by the US, and the US will build for themselve a new generation of them.
And as Australia has ZERO experience with nuclear energy, let alone marine nuclear energy, the sub will be manned with a partial US crew for the propulsion part.
And then there is the onshore maintenance part to organize.....
Good luck.
Australia has this fear that if you shook the map millions of Chinese would fall down into Australia. the White Australia policy developed from an influx of Chinese during the gold rush days. Then when Britain was reluctant to have Australian troops return from the Middle East as Japan began its southern thrust and Singapore fell we saw America as our great hope. We have not been so much dragged into a coalition as we have been clinging to the coat tails of the US ever since.

The three great fears of Australians is being overwhelmed by China, being bitten by a shark and running out of toilet paper.

It becomes a bit similar to the illegal rave party last weekend. That gets 15,000 participants which is so large that the government and police can not stop it anymore, just because of the sheer number and danger of violence and riots. The only way is negotiating.

Renault would be punished by their own French government and the EU if they would keep doing business in Iran at the time. Chery, Brilliance and Changan, all Chinese brands, won’t have that problem.

The anarchist Epstein fan might not agree with me on this, but I think it has less to do with not reacting on intimidation and more with not willing to choose any side besides their own. In an apparent way that is, to avoid alienating any (potential) business partner. India is also going that direction btw.

Did you see the video in which two people coincidently were climbing the Kremlin dome at the time of the attack? What an amateuristisch false flag this whole Putin assassination attempt. 😏

Propaganda is a powerfull war tool. Used by both parties, and usually under the control of Dept or Ministery of Propaganda.
In this case, it is probably destinated at the domestic audience.

Zelensky, being a professionnal comedian is the best at this P.R. thing !

Amaturish describes the Russian planners and military very fittingly. Wonder if no one realizes that these drones would have had to fly through numerous Russian air defense areas before arriving at the Kremlin. Loved how they were blown up directly above the flag. Damage was slight at worst. Putin must have designed this operation personally.

The attack occurred on 3rd May 2am, at half past ten in the evening the same day, KyivPost tweeted to announce their new stamp. Wow, that was quick! From design to printing to launching in less than 24 hours, not even the Chinese can do it that fast. No wonder, Jackson Hinkle (USA) tweeted "Thank you for confirming this was not a false flag".

...the attack on the Kremlin had been carefully prepared for months by the post office's elite units.

It seems the one commemorating the sinking of the Russian ship Moskva wás real though…

About demonstrations: The Danish broadcast company DR, in collaboration with other European media such as the French 'Le Monde', identified at least 10 "fake demonstrations" in various European cities.

Protesters (sometimes the same ones) hold posters with identical messages written in identical ways and with the same spelling errors. The ‘fake’ demonstrators appeared between December last year and March this year at the pension protests in Paris, climate protests in The Hague and protests in Brussels.

And it will only get "better" with A.I !

Fact checking is nowadays nearly non existent in European medias.
For that I must admit that US papers like W.P. or N.Y.T. (I am a subscriber) are much better.

A village for Americans and Canadians wishing to immigrate to Russia will be built in the Moscow region, Timur Beslangurov, a partner of VISTA Immigration law firm, stated. The company is specialized on handling the administration of visa and arranging residence permits in Russia.

"In the Moscow region, the construction of a village for Americans and Canadians who want to move will begin in 2024. About 200 families want to emigrate for ideological reasons," the lawyer said at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

According to Beslangurov, tens of thousands of people - foreigners without Russian roots - would like to move to Russia. Esp. those with traditionals values
including Catholics who "have a very strong belief in the prophecy that Russia will remain the only Christian country in the world."

Stone the crows, what is the ideology of present day Russia? Hail Putin, do not question government? Believe everything that Putin and his colleagues say?

What an opportunity. Almost as good as the Kenyan cult that recommends starving yourself and your children to death so that they can meet Jesus sooner. So far 201 deaths and still climbing with 600 missing. Gee such a difficult choice. Russia or the Kenyan cult? Toss a coin. On the other hand the village is just for Americans and Canadians. Australians aren't invited so it looks like Kenya and starving to meet Jesus.

I guess Sergey Danilochkin can arrange him a nice humble abode as Eastern White House?

As a lifelong Labor supporter I am nonplussed by the present Australian Labor government's commitment to building 8 nuclear powered submarines at an estimated cost of $368 billion. It is interesting to note that the then conservative Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced in 2017 that the country , would invest in a major Snowy Mountains project at a cost of $2b and be online by 2021. A report today by energy analyst Tim Buckley said the project would eventually cost at least $10b. And that is just six years on from the original estimate. I hate to think what this nuclear folly will ultimately blow out to over the next thirty years while increasing numbers of Australians are being driven into poverty by unaffordable accommodation and rising costs of living.

Major projects often tend to have long delays and be way over the initial budget.

See Flamanville (France), Hinkley Point (UK), Olkiluatu ( Finland) ...
The latter had a 14 year delay.

I guess that with all the modern technology, A.I. and ChatGtp we are becoming less efficient as France managed to build 58 nuclear powerplants between 1974 and 2010 !
Now it takes 15 year to build just ONE !
