DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

Here in Sumatra, anybody with any money goes to Penang or KL, possibly singapore for serious health issues. They know the 'Rumah Sakit Umum' are no better than the magic men. But alas, theres no option now for leaving the country.

DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

I didn't 'like' that post because I am elated to see high funeral rates, but because dafluff is showing us the true face of the Indonesian 'health system'

Where are you bunkering for Covid-19?

There are probably 25 to 30 tourists and 12-15 more or less permanent expats like myself stranded here on Samosir island in the middle of Lake Toba (tuk-tuk). It's probably one of the better places to be during these times, though. We can shut down the entry points if it starts to heat up here...

About the new emergency Automatic Permit Stay Extension

Because from every side I am being bombarded by "don't travel, stay where you are, Isolate" exhortations. And I am a higher-risk candidate to catch the virus. In short, I'm trying to save my life. Snpark, your posts and documents have been a big help clarifying this. Thank you.

About the new emergency Automatic Permit Stay Extension

"This is only voa and visa exempt who are unable to return to their home countries. No overstay fine for as long as your home country is closed" As far as I know, no country in the world is "closed" to it's own citizens, so by your logic, this new rule doesn't apply to anyone at all.

About the new emergency Automatic Permit Stay Extension

If you have not heard about the new emergency Coronavirus policy from Immigration, linked here: , here is what I can decipher: 1. Page 1 of the graphic says it applies to "foreigners who cannot return to their country due to covid-19 outbreak". Questions abound: 1. Why the arbitrary...

N95 Masks vs. Surgical Masks: Which Is Better at Preventing The Coronavirus?

Medical personnel wear masks for even routine tasks having nothing to do with viruses. It's all part of the uniform. Did you think they were gonna take em off during the CV crisis just to show they didn't need em?

N95 Masks vs. Surgical Masks: Which Is Better at Preventing The Coronavirus?

Masks do not prevent you from getting the virus. They only help slow the SPREAD of the virus, by stopping your cough droplets from landing on other ppl and surfaces. This information can be found on EVERY responsible health website and has been repeated ad nauseum for weeks now.

    Wake Up Indonesia

Every person has the duty to stand up to stupid or unjust laws. If this forum is too afraid to allow criticism of unjust laws then Fu^k it. Get some gonads and principles.

    Wake Up Indonesia

It is highly irresponsible of Indonesian Immigration to force travellers to crowd like that. Imigrasi should simply WAIVE all overstay penalties for the duration of the crisis. There should be NO required trips to kantor imigrasi to fill out forms, pay money, etc. This puts both travellers and...

    Wake Up Indonesia

Of course, that's just where the testing kits are. No kits means no coronavirus?!

DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

One can never trust any sort of diagnosis from an indonesian facility. I have seen people with obvious food poisoning get diagnosed as 'sakit gula' and told to stop eating cilis or fish. As this article suggests, CV is being misdiagnosed as dengue...

I don't know why one would need a thermometer gun to check oneself for fever. You already KNOW when you have a fever.

Yes, here at toba also. "the vaccines are coming". Very stupid of mr president to say that. So much woo-woo going around.

DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

Many of us here at Lake Toba are in this situation now as well. Came in on VOA or 30-day stamp and flying back to Penang/KL now are stranded. Indo immigration needs to acknowledge the humanitarian and safety aspects of this and WAIVE overstay fees until this blows over. Forcing us to leave is...
