Hi,

New member here, so please advice me if i can find the information somewhere else.

I am in possesion of a 1y KITAS, expire in oct 2021. My colleague have a 6 month KITAS with validity until end of april, we are both in the need of extension at end of expire, so which options do we have? To add to the story, we are working and traveling back and forth to Indonesia. Which means we are not permanent staying here and are not eligable to the KITAS extensions created by the pandemic situation.

According to our sponsor, the imigration has closed all new appliances and process for KITAS. Regardless of type, do anyone know if this is the fact? Where or who can I get in contact with to get more information?

Thanks in advance!

I have a feeling that something with their statement isnt correct, thats why im reaching out to you.

Thanks in advance!
Not so sure about the visa (itas) processing but I am told that work permits aren't being processed at this time unless under special circumstances.
I guess it depends on what value your work has to the country.
However- your visa is valid until October, I would wait and see what the situation is in July/ August & then ask. March is way too early to be worrying about October- nobody knows what will be going on by then.
I am sure others will know more & will likely chime in.

Making KITAS extensions while present in Indonesia is still available and has been for the whole pandemic except a brief period around April(?) last year. You must file for the KITAS extension from 1-90 days before the expiration, and once started it can go as quickly as a few days, or of course much longer if everything is not in order.

Your sponsor seems to be confused. Immigration is not processing new Kitas for people presently outside the country. Extensions, and new KITAS for people currently in Indonesia, is still happening.

Knowing what kind of KITAS (employee with IMTA, investor, etc) and your sponsor arrangement would help with understanding any other nuances.

Brand new 1 year work KITAS are not being processed. Renewals are (as Bad_azz & R Cameron have stated).

You haven't saidwhat types of KITAS you and your friend have. 6 month KITAS sounds like a artis type KITAS. Can you please confirm which ones you have.

Brand new work permits and KITAS are processed if you are already in the country.

Be prepared for a wait with any KITAS extension . I applied in mid October 2020 and finally got it mid January 2021 . All extensions now have to go throught the Ministry of Law and Human Rights due to the Covid restrictions/regulations and there not in any rush . Just on 3 months , usually 3-5 days !!

I don't remember the process with the the Law office in Jakarta ever being done in such a short time. I even had multiple trips because they didn't finish the papers when they said they would. I'm thinking it was always at least week and a half for me... but probably two weeks plus going up to a month if I had to go back multiple times.
